Maybe the league needs to move these 10 teams into a farm system and contract the league to 22 teams. :wacko:

I actually think American sports would be a lot better if they actually used a European system of having teams moving up and down among various leagues. Let there be free entry into the bottom (local) league for any team that wants to join. Then the top local teams move on into the regional league. Then the top regional leagues move into the second-tier national league. Then the top second-tier teams move into the top league. (And while all of this is happening, the bottom teams in league will drop down.)

 

Does a few things:

1) Gives a reason for crappy teams to still try hard.

2) Gives fans in a city a choice of what team to support. If an owner pisses off his fans, he/she will lose them to a new start-up team. (No more having to support Bill Bidwell because he is the only team in town.)

 

(Of course, the existing owners would NEVER go for this system, but it would be a hell of a lot better than what we have now.)

Another vote here for the Rams.

 

The Rams are rotten, but at least they have two QBs of varying NFL pedigree (Boller is a disappointment, Bulger was actually VERY good for a 3 yr stretch) and one of the better RBs in the league.

 

Cle, TB, and Oak just seem to have nothing going for them.
