Gdawg
Um. no one should ever bench Brees, for starters. The Huddle didn't tell anyone to bench Brees; the Hasslebeck thing... This website is best viewed as a sounding board; something of an older, wiser brother, if you will. Keeping that in mind, always go with your gut. Schaub and Cutler were projected to throw one TD each, but I thought they'd do better and they both did. On the flip side, DMD is right more often than not, that's why I've been on the hook for a long, long time. It's all good man, learn and grow; all of us do. If DMD could see the future and accurately predict the stats, I'm sure he'd be charging more than $20 for access to the site.
WaterMan
If I owned those 3 QBs, Hasselbeck would be the last to start. Unless Favre is playing a nasty D.
RussMan
This weekend is what makes fantasy football fun, frustrating, and unpredictable. You must never know for sure what is going to happen no matter what the matchup. It is what it is.
Outshined
I can understand how Brees was ranked low because of the previous 2 games and he was going a against a top notch defense . Hass was going aganst the a defense ranked at the bottom so of course his ranking was a little higher. You drafted Brees in the second round and you should not be playing matchups, especially when he plays at home. There's 7 games to go, so no need to panic. detlef
Not to pile on, but the predictions should only be used to determine which of your marginal players has the best shot at being a pleasant surprise. So, if you decided to play the waiting game on your QB and are mining the waiver wire because you figured this was the year Campbell would turn the corner and Delhomme was your back up plan. That's when the fact that Hasslebeck looks like a nice play matters. And who can blame anyone for thinking he might do well. Seattle sure looked good last week. It is not, I repeat, not something that you should let talk you into benching a stud QB, who should a play every week he's starting until it becomes obvious that he was supposed to be, but, in fact, isn't a stud QB. AtomicCEO
Brees went in the 1st or high 2nd round of most drafts. How do you draft Brees if you don't plan on starting him? Just to get him on your team means you think he's worth a start over Hasselbeck... I mean... I just don't get it.
Thews40
It's "your" team and you get to be the coach. But speaking of bad calls, that catch by Lee Evans last night (overturned in OT) was total BS.

brokenblade
Yes, I know I shouldn't have benched Brees - wasn't trying to put the blame on huddle. It was one of those stupid moves that most of us do at one point or another where you know what you should do, but then after reading or hearing something - you make a boneheaded move trying to chase that "perfect matchup" that you just SURE you'll net some extra points off of. I probably could have worded my original post better - basically my intent was to show off my colossal stupidity by letting someone elses predictions impact what I knew the right choice to make. Anyone here that hasn't made the same sort of move during their FF years probably hasn't played very long or should be a GM for an NFL team. Heck, if Ted Thompson can get a job being GM for the Packers, any decent FF player is equally qualified. Wolv
Here's a lil tip: Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Smart thing to do is check several different sources, make comparisons, then come up with your own conclusions. Start/Bench + game predictions give you some good insight along with sometimes varying opinions. Plenty of other free/pay sites you can go to to add to the info to draw upon. wolfer
you overthought this situation. NO had 2 weeks to prepare protection schemes to counter the NYG pass rush. And Payton already had the #1 O-line in the league. Meanwhile the NYG secondary is severely banged up and it showed. Did Brees even get touched once in this game? Amazing. On top of all this there was a Lance Moore sighting. Enjoy auto-dressing Brees the rest of the way.

The division is comprised of bad or mediocre teams. I don't think it was completely implausible to think the Hawks could compete if they could somehow stop the year+ long injury rash.
