Shorttynaz
"The Jim Zorn watch began immediately after the Redskins' loss to the Chiefs. But it appears he has done enough to save his job, for now. Sources told FOXSports.com that following Sunday's game, Zorn met with Redskins vice president Vinny Cerrato, who basically told him that the head coach had too much on his plate and that he wanted him to succeed as head coach. They agreed that Zorn would relinquish playcalling duties. The two will meet again Monday morning to discuss who that role who be transferred to. The move comes amid heavy criticism of the beleaguered Zorn all season long, which had grown each week as the Redskins lost four of their first six games against the NFL's weakest schedule. Zorn's offense has not scored more than 17 points in any game this season. In Sunday's loss, Washington earned only seven first downs and failed to score a touchdown. Last week, former NFL asistant coach Sherm Lewis was hired by the Redskins in a consultant role with the underachieving team. Since starting 6-2 in 2008, the Redskins have lost 10 of their last 14 games." Per Jay Glazer on Foxsports.com LINK
MojoMan
I heard that they're going to appoint Obama the OC to start getting points on the board.
budlitebrad
As usual, the Skins front office thinks a press release will help improve the situation...
BeeR
As usual, lmao @ Snyder. Couldn't happen to a nicer putz. I think Zorn's incompetence is overblown - check his personnel. Most of his quality players (and there aren't many) are on the downside of their careers, he has no QB worth squat (and keep in mind he knew it as he tried for Cutler) etc. Edited October 19, 2009 by BeeR

ABearWithFurniture
I thought Zorn quit calling plays last year...
Mello
I think Snyder's trying to get Zorn to quit or make a termination agreement so he doesn't have to pay him the full contract. Otherwise, it makes no sense to take away his playcalling and still call him a head coach. There's no way the players are going to respect a coach that who's boss has done this to him. All they know now is that they won't have to answer to Zorn for much longer. Needless to say, I love it.
rai
I don't understand why he didn't get Cutler or Braylon or Anquan or Marshall I mean Den got whatever they got for Cutler from Chi but couldn't Wash have gone one-up and over paid? if Chi gave 4 picks why couldn't Was given 5 picks? why would the skins overpay for a Defensive star like Hainsworth when they needed O-line and WR and QB help? I mean they don't score 20 points in a game so having Hainsworth is not going to change that. Edited October 19, 2009 by rai
Belushi
Denver probably thought (and quite rightly) that getting Orton back in the trade was a heck of allot better than getting Campbell. Remember, Denver needed to get a starting QB out of the deal. Campbell hasn't shown that he should be a starting NFL QB.
Big Score 1
Sources have confirmed that the Washington Redskins recently tried to hire Mike Shanahan to replace Jim Zorn and Shanahan declined.
