isleseeya
I actually am a Paul but I am actually aggrivated that norv turner pulls LT for Sproles on 3rd goal from the 2 yard line... Sproles can do lot of great things but goal line carriers with a healthy LT on the sideline makes no sense LT may not be the stud he was but man give him the goal line carriers Norv That is all

dbforbes
Absolutely idiotic move, and we saw the pathetic results. I can only hope that Turner was attempting to pull an Andy Reid and try to light a fire under him.
Henry Muto
I have LT as well and I need to come from behind to win but that said the Sproles play did work vs Oakland. I have the all time pulled from goal line RB team I have LT, P-Thomas and Slaton!!! Edited October 20, 2009 by Henry Muto

dbforbes
It looks like things could be much worse. And don't get me wrong about Sproles. He certainly has his place. Obviously, considering the last few minutes. However, I just don't think that that place is anywhere near being the goal line back.
DMD
If I read Tomlinson's face correctly, he too was not pleased to be yanked at the goal line either.
Union Jack
DMD - You and me both, ESPN panned on LT a few times during the 3rd down goal line snub - as an owner, its great to see that frickin' fire in the guy... Did you see Gates come over more than likely asking him "why weren't you in there" - LT responded with something like " it's not me, they're calling the plays" Lettuce and Tomato's MOTOR is running on High and that's all good - unfortanetely, LT has no control over the playcalling Ujack

Shorttynaz
If you were watching the same 2nd half I was, LT was horrible. He couldn't block anyone. He was given the ball a few times, but as soon as he was about to take a hit he looked as if he just went to the ground - although the piss poor play of the o-line was not helping. wolfer
Only McFadden falls down faster after contact. This is really sad to watch, all those wonderful LT years of fantasy glory, and this is what we are reduced to...

Perhaps you missed this: 1-10-SD26 (3:39) L.Tomlinson right end pushed ob at SD 43 for 17 yards (B.Dawkins). When LT stiff-armed a would-be-tackler 4 yards beyond the line and broke into the secondary. Then he gained 7 on the next play. Then he made it back to the line after Dumervil contacted him 3 yards behind the LOS. (Then Rivers was sacked and fumbled it away.) He still has something left. On the season: LT - 3.7 ypc Sproles - 2.4 ypc Rivers was hurried 11 times, hit 10, and sacked 5 times on 33 passes. He fumbled 3 times out of the 5 he was sacked. The problem is the line. Chargerz
The problem is the line. Very true. There were some holes for LT to run through in the first half, and they gave Philip time to throw. The second half, however , was a different story.
LosGatosEnFuegos
im pretty sure 2 of those were from LT blowing the block in the final minutes. On numerous occasions the line blew assignments and the back had to move across the QB to pick up a rusher. They didn't make it easy for the backs. I stand by my assessment. It's the economy stupid. Wait, wrong assessment. The problem is the line.
cadycadets
Look at the record since turner took over the team. They have went downhill ever since he took over. All that talent was on the team when he came and he has wasted it. So Lt is is behind a bad line and poor coaching. Who do they have for receivers after gates that is a threat each play?? Honestly nobody.......
tonorator
i thought LT look sluggish running the ball. he did not have his sharp cuts and didn't make any plays on his own to compensate for the poor line. mostly he just lowered his head and ran behind the fullback, falling down after contact. maybe it is all the line, but to me, it looks like he's definitely lost that step and i was actually feeling bad for him ... like watching an old horse trying to give it one more go. Bronco Billy
LT was not looking good running the ball at the time that it happened. But instead of handing it to Sproles, why not roll out and use a run/throw option down there - especially with a healthy Gates and the size SD has at WR? I think after the outcome of that game, Norv is going to be able to look back right at that play as the point that pushed him over the edge to being fired once the season ends.
