Big Ernie McCracken
Hines is being targeted a ton and Roethlisberger is playing at a high level. It seems they've gone to an intermediate passing attack to replace some running plays and its apparently helped the running attack because Ben is shredding teams with crossing routes and eventually forcing D's off the line. Tomlin seems happy to keep throwing and Ward isn't afraid to work the middle. Going forward I see Ward as a potential starter as a WR#2, because they're winning by putting the ball in Roethlisberger's hands and Ben knows he can trust Ward to work back when he's in trouble and be in the right spot when he's not. Belushi
This year he's performing like a WR1, and I doubt it will change. Holmes flashes for a few weeks, but then he always fades. Pittsburgh is a passing team, not a running team. They'll air it out a ton, especially this week against Minny. Home games in the snow might be a little tough, but as NE showed last week a little snow doesn't have to shut down the passing game. I own Ward in one league, and he's been outperforming my so-called stud WR Steve Smith (CAR). I just traded for Ben in another league. Menudo
They've been ranking a WR ahead of Ward for 10 years now, heck, I'm guilty of it myself. "Plaxico will emerge as the #1 receiver this year." "Santonio will emerge as the #1 WR this year"......and Ward always out-performs them. It is amazing. I'm not looking forward to watching the Steelers play without Hines Ward. It has to go downhill some time, but, it's not starting yet. i_am_the_swammi
Sounds like you hit it spot on. +1 Yep....since Ward is performing like a WR1 thus far thru 6 weeks, no reason to think he'd perform worse than a WR2 from here on out.
