cdrudge
The Vikings, Giants, and Falcons, as well as 49ers and Packers (at least based on current standings) will wonder what they could have done differently so that they could play the Colts too. SLAYER
Everybody down there would be saying: "who dat" I just hate that saying...it sounds uneducated. well 50% of us are uneducated and the city of NO would absolutely go crazy combine Mardi Gras with the BCS title game and it would be crazier than that. If it happens and you are within driving distance you don't want to miss this party.

We Saints fans know how to have fun without tipping over cars and starting fires. Lots of good food and dancing in the streets is my prediction. detlef
If the question relates to whether or not they'd have much of a home-field advantage, my guess would be less than most would think. Given the corporate nature and the high ticket price of the event, I think you're rather assured of having a relatively neutral crowd. Relatively, that is. You'd have to think that this would be the closest any team has had to a home crowd for a Superbowl, but I doubt it would be anything close to what teams experience playing in a home play-off game. Shorttynaz
I'm surprised people are even talking about this. There's still a lot of football left, and just like most other good teams out there - the Saints are one (1) injury away, Mr. Brees, from being a mediocre team. And after the game, maybe another nice round of crime and plundering like when Katrina hit Ironically it won't matter if it's because of a win or loss. Randall
I only asked because a few years back rajncajn said you think UT was annoying just wait til the Saints are in the SB. With an improved defense it's very possible this year.

A football message board is absolutely no place for people to speculate what might happen if the team who pretty much looks better than anyone else right now manages to get to the SB on their home turf. detlef
I thought the Super Bowl was in Miami this year. I didn't bother to look it up. Just assumed that was the point of the thread especially based on how the early replies.
darin3
If the Saints go to the Super Bowl, we'll likely go to New Orleans to partayyyy... like back in '07 when the Bears beat the Saints. If my boys hadn't knocked out the Saints, we woulda driven out for the long weekend. I was torn.

SLAYER
So what IS the point of the thread? To get Saint fans excited. Full of wishes and hopes and years and years of frustration. Uh - did anyone consider the Vikings??? They're (IMO) better than the Saints. Got the leagues best RB, they have a better defense and they have a passing game that's potent enough to keep defenses honest. I'm definitely not a Vikings fan, but if I were putting money on the NFC SB representative today, I would definitely pick em.
Donutrun Jellies
I'd welcome a Saints vs Steelers superbowl this year ... Their def has stepped up and they have weapons galore on offense ... though I think the Giants are stronger than they showed vs New Orleans; am interested to see how the Vikes look vs Pittsburgh today; and am not convinced the Falcons won't have a say in the NFC by the time it is all done ... Ahh, the beauty of midseason speculation -- all we've really learned about the NFC is that Dallas and Tampa Bay won't be in the Superbowl. Randall
So what IS the point of the thread? It was a boring saturday. I remembered Rajn's quote about the Saints in the SB, remembered as well the first game in the Superdome after it was rebuilt and how it would rock if the Championship game was there and then the Superbowl. It wasn't a prediction, but if it isn't the Packers back in the I'd like to see the Saints get there. Of course the Giants, Falcons, Bears, Vikings, Niners, Eagles, Packers, even Cowboys (and others)are still in this.
