When Bye Week Replacements Work

picked up Green Bay defense 2 weeks ago in anticipation of Baltimore bye last week. Went ahead and started them ahead of Balt last week, when they shut out Detroit, for an excellent DEF week.

As the bye week replacement, they promptly held CLE to 3 points and put up significant points.

I like GB Def, but they are not huge in TDs, sacks, INT's. They seem very good at hold bad teams down in yards/pts (which my leage rewards).

Then......this week, with Chris Johnson on bye, I debated between Beanie Wells and Ricky Williams. The title of this post gives away the answer as to who I picked. (Beanie would easily have been accepted as a very satisfactory bye week performance).

Playing matchups (or making "educated" decisions) is really fun when it works out!

Last week was my most brutal bye week, I had Chris Johnson, Jones-Drew, Ray Rice and Burleson on bye. Plugged in Stroughter (League rewards return yards, and PPR), Fargas, D. Brown (oh, what could've been) and Maroney (least he scored) - and still finished first in points on the week.

Thank you Schaub, DeSean and Indy D.

On my NFL.com team I hade Rice and K. Smith o bye, plucked Sticky icky Ricky out of the FA pool....and VOILA!
