Bengal Mania
McNabb is my QB. Wandered between subpar guys while he was injured and during his bye. Since he (and they) have returned from injury/bye, I decided to take Kolb as my only QB backup, figuring they have a pretty good passing game, Kolb has shown ability if McNabb is hurt, and they won't be "resting" before end of season. It's that or choose from slim pickings as my backup. I will look through the playoff time matchups at some point and probably add a flier for purely a matchup, but I don't want to hold 3 QBs right now. Just asking for converstaion.......anybody else carry QBs from one team only? What other team's backup is worthy of being the only other QB on your roster? Ursa Majoris
Once the bye is over, this is a good strategy as long as there's a worthwhile second stringer. There aren't many.
Ursa Majoris
Warner and Leinart maybe?
CaP'N GRuNGe
I don't right now, but you'd probably be OK with Warner/Leinart.
Samson
Leinart has been less than impressive. I would not feel good about him as my backup QB. Kolb on the other hand has shown he can generate fantasy numbers. Not crazy about the rest of Philly's schedule, though.
Henry Muto
In 1 league I traded Palmer/Knox for Ocho/Sims-Walker and that left me only Warner/Leinart and no one was on the waiver wire and I mean no one can we say Russel was on a team ?!? All 32 Qbs gone but Alex Smith is now there for the pick up In any event I was ok with trading my back up QB because I had the combo of Warner/Leinart After this week I am dumping my back up QB's where I have Brady
Scooby
on a shorter roster like 15, I dump backup QB after my main one comes off of bye, but a 16 man roster I generally keep a backup QB. Then I keep my fingers crossed;)
Rovers
on a shorter roster like 15, I dump backup QB after my main one comes off of bye, but a 16 man roster I generally keep a backup QB. Then I keep my fingers crossed;) That's a little risky. A lot depends on line up requirements, flex spots, etc. I usually take two QB's and one of the backups for one of those starting QB's until after the bye weeks. I go with one kicker and one D. I look for both the PK and D's that have late byes, after my QB's byes have passed. (16 roster spot leagues) For QB's like Schaub or Rothliberger... if they went down, could their B/Up's help you win in the FF playoffs? Manning? Brady? A Warner/Lienart combo is much safer. In one league I do have Schaub and Roths. Sure, I could trade one, but if the other gets hurt... unless I can get an A Peterson or R Wayne for a Slaton and a Schaub, I'd rather keep the security blanket. scottyjets
I have a short bench in my (very deep) league so I decided to go with Favre (in the 12th round) as my lone QB. The Vikes have a Week 9 bye which definitely weighed into my decision. I'm going to attempt to pick up Alex Smith on waivers for Favre's bye and as a backup moving forward most likely. I think he's solid enough. If I don't get A.Smith, it's best available for the bye (Vince Young or Josh Freeman) and then most likely dropping them and rolling with Favre with my fingers crossed. I have no problem rolling with one QB. In most leagues, the guy you're going to get late as a backup QB is not much better than the guy available for a spot start on WW.
