Probably some way saves Mangini's job. Let the GM he picked take the fall for all the bad moves and trades he orchestrated.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mangini is the next one escorted out of the facility

I think Mangini sticks around. They let him make the moves that set the team back a number of years, they will give him a chance to see if he can make good on his plan. I think this had more to do with trying to stop the upcoming protest, show the fans something. I know the football fans in Ohio will see through this.

I heard the fans are already waiting to come into the stadium until after kickoff. If this move keeps any more protesting from happening, it was a good move. I live 30 miles east of Cleveland and I know lifelong fans that are mowing the lawn on Sunday afternoon instead of watching the game.

I'll be the first to admit that Mangini has not done a very good job so far. Especially his handling of the QB situation. However, it's naive to think that he was going to turn this mess around in one off-season and eight games. When you hire a coach, or GM for that matter, you have to do it with the idea that you are going to give them time to implement their plan for the team. How much time this represents I'm not sure. I would say at least 3 years. IMHO, the Browns' biggest problem since their return has been a lack of stability in coaching and management. Our biggest rival, the Steelers, have probably been the most stable organization in the modern era and their results reflect this.

it was done backwards from the getgo.

Who hires a Coach before they hire their GM?

This organization is a joke.

Having the coach choose the GM (as I understand the situation) is pretty strange.

The whole situation seems hopeless. I'm embarrassed to say that after a lifetime of watching (or attending) virtually every game I've only watched the opener from start to finish. And that's mostly because I own Peterson. I haven't even been to a game in 2 years.

:wacko::D :D
