I think 250lb 6'2" RBs have there place in the game. But lets take a second and look at what a short stocky guy like Rice or MJD bring to the table. First of all a low center of gravity mean stability and a smaller target to hit. It's easy to swipe the legs out of a guy who is over 6 feet. Watch every time these two stud-shortys put a hand down on the ground and shake off a tackle as a monster running full tilt flies over their back or glances off a shoulder.

I love the tripods! They are powerful, they are harder to bring down, and best of all they seem to have endless energy. Who can deny these guys rarely look tired out? Do you see them lagging in the 4th? Because I certainly don't. The larger the mass the more force it takes to move it. That's why these guys are so explosive, they can react faster, move faster, cut faster, and are lower to the ground so they can stick a hand down when needed and keep from falling over when they get hit. I expect these guys to be all stars all year.

Like MJD I expect Rice to go in the top 5 in most drafts next year. Considering Sjax was my #1 pick and Rice was my #4 pick I think it's safe to say I might have screwed myself by taking a guy who has 1 TD after 8 games in the first round but I'm still a contender because I lucked out and picked a top 5 back in round 4. Thank you Ray Rice.

I scored Rice in the majority of my drafts, thanks to The Huddle's superbly accurate ranking of him, and the little green (U) had me picking him up in the 4th - 6th rounds with confidence. Yes I'll admit, I felt like I had reached for him a bit early back in September when McGahee was going nuts - and even traded him away along with NYG Smith for Ocho and Slaton to hedge my bets, but he's still rocking the house for me - I even scored him, MJD and Chris Johnson in one League - along with Schaub, Colston, DeSean, Burleson and Gates - I'm running away in that League!

I think there is a huge difference between guys like MJD and Rice who have the bulk and then the lighter guys ala Moats, Westy, Dunn. etc.

Westbrook is a true fluke but in the WCO plays to his strengths. He would not have been nearly as good in a traditional offense using a power running game. MJD and Rice could play anywhere but the lighter guys need the WCO or a spread offense because they are not able to do inside work.

I'm not even going to ask...but this sounds pretty ghey as Shake the Gilligan hand

For those interested in how I ended up with Peterson, MJD & Ray Rice??

Even the owners in my league are still amazed that I pulled this off.. We can start 3 RB's each week (2 RB's and a flex spot).

I had the #1 pick in our 10 team PPR redraft league. I took Peterson. I then took Wayne and Jennings with my next two picks. I then drafted Rivers in the 4th, Kevin Smith in the 5th and Ray Rice in the 6th. When I drafted Rice in the 6th, 8 of the 9 owners started laughing and a few of them told me that I bought into the "preseason hype" and in turn just wasted a pick. Needless to say, I've since then changed my team name to "Preseason Hype."

In week 3, as McGahee was the TD whore in Baltimore, I offered the McGahee owner Ray Rice and John Carlson for Westbrook and K Winslow. He called me up and asked if I was serious and when I said yes, he started laughing. He was one of the guys who told me that I wasted a pick on Rice, and said that he's not at all interested.

The NEXT DAY, the MJD owner was fed up with MJD's lack of production and put him on the trade block. He was asking for a WR in return. Thinking he would have asked for Peterson and/or a WR, I decided to give it a shot and shoot low - offerering him Ray Rice and Housh (my 7th round pick) for MJD. He just like everyone else said that he has NO interest in Ray Rice and said that I'll have to try harder. LOL - so I offered him Kevin Smith, Greg Jennings and J Carlson instead - in return getting MJD and O Daniels. He took it. The loss of Daniels really sucks as I want to shatter every record in this league and yesterday I reaquired Carlson as the guy I traded with dropped him a few weeks ago for Fred Davis.

I am crusing (as of now) well on my way to the one of the best individual seasons by a manager since this league began 11 years ago. I'm in first and a 300 point lead over the next closest manager.

SO - there was no collusion, no cheating, and at the time it was a fair trade. Actually at the time, it looked as if the other manager got the better end of the deal.

I just had someone PM me still saying that I'm full of it, so I did a cut and paste of my current team (call me Henry Muto if you want). Here it is..

considering how low Rice went in the draft this year its HIGHLY likely that anyone could have AP or MJD and Rice. How he got the other player could very well have been through a trade to a guy desperate for a WR. There's no reason to suspect he is lying. Lucky as hell. But possible. If he claimed he had MJD, AP, and another first round pick then i'd be suspect.

Westbrook is 5'10/203. Isn't that just about the same size as the others?

His style is a little different, but I think he is such a special athlete that any offense should be able to find a way to use him. I think he would have been excellent in the Faulk role for the Greatest Show teams. I think Peyton would love him. I agree that he may not fit a Steelers football mold, but there are only a handful of teams that still play like that. I don't think his success has as much to do with the WCO as it does with Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb learning how to use his particular skill set.
