Square Posted November 4, 2009 Share Posted November 4, 2009 I don't own Eli in any leagues but the talk shows have been all over how terrible the Giants have been the last 3 weeks. It got me thinking that maybe this was the buy low point for some Giants (Eli as a #2QB for spot starts). I haven't gotten to see many of the games and was wondering what people thought about the way the Giants have been playing. Is there a particular set of injuries or something that has caused this team to go from good defense and up and coming offense to the dreary box scores they've had lately? Is it a coach, a funk, or just young talent floundering? Any opinions would be helpful. I am just trying to find value in teams that have been playing well and recently slumped and thought this might be a good discussion for people looking to improve their teams through trades. Judge Smales Posted November 4, 2009 Share Posted November 4, 2009 Just my opinion, but based on the Giants rest of season strength of schedule against the pass, and Eli's lack of ability to play through whatever issues (foot, tougher D's, WR injuries, etc) the last few weeks I have downgraded expectations for their team the rest of the way out. I traded away the other Steve Smith this week based on the above. Hopefully I won't regret this move. Not sure what is up with them lately. The only potential good thing is they still have a bye week coming up to work out these issues and get healthy, so may just be a rut, but it sure looks like it could be an ongoing issue the rest of the season to me. I wouldn't sell the farm to get Eli or any of their WR's, but may be a good team to target as a throw in to a deal just in case they turn it around.
