Knuklzz
Could it be the same injury that slowed him down in 2008?
Chargerz
I'm reading foot injury, not toe.
McBoog
Taking part in practice on a limited basis were tight end Antonio Gates (foot), safety Steve Gregory (ankle) and defensive lineman Travis Johnson (groin). Precautionary. He'll play and get his!
Square
Precautionary. He'll play and get his! He's been good with receptions and yardage, but only scored 2 touchdowns in ONE game. So the rest of the time you just get 5-7 catches for 50 - 80 yards. Not real impressed with how the Chargers have been utilizing Gates this year. CJSKI
I wouldn't count Gates out as a solid FF producer. He has some good TE matchups coming up. He has faced some solid TE defenses. With the exception of Miami all have been solid at limiting TE's and Miami has faced some solid TE's thus far. With the exception of KC,(that game was over before it started) his matchups have been tough. The NYG, Philly and Dal have all had issues with TE's. Other than DEN and Wash in week's 11 and 16 you should start to see some better numbers. Not to mention Chambers is gone and Floyd definitely should garner more respect from safeties. Maybe I am just being optimistic since I have Gates on 4 of 8 teams but he has met most of my expectations all year except KC. When I drafted him it was definitely with the 2nd half of the season in mind.

Gates has been the focus of opposing Ds when the Chargers want to pass. It's why Jackson and the rest on the outside have been consistently open. Especially in the red zone which shows in the team's red zone efficiency. It'll be a tough slog until opposing Ds decide to pick their poison. STL Fan
Personally, I'm benching Gates this week for the nominee for Waiver-Wire Man of the Year, Vernon Davis.
