CaptainHook
I heard on the radio yesterday that this is the first time Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson have both been healthy enough to play in the same game vs. the Colts. In all previous Colts/Texans match-ups one of the two has missed the game. Add in the fact the Colts secondary is in shambles due to injuries . . . Bad news for us Colts fans - however the fantasy player in me is hapily starting Johnson with confidence this weekend!
aruss
All the Huddle advice I have seen says to sit Schaub. My alternative is Hasselbeck. I have Schuab AND Johnson....decisions, decisions....

I have Schuab AND Johnson....decisions, decisions.... I think you need a pretty sweet option to sit Schaub. I think Hasselbeck against a crap D like the Lions qualifies. But Alex Smith managed 200/1 last week in Indy. He was sacked 4 times and threw a pick but the Niners lost Staley on the first play. Â I dunno. A week of scheming by Kubiak knowing they'll be without Daniels should help the HOU offense.
HowboutthemCowboys
did'nt thay have Indy beat last year until the backup QB ( who's name escapes me at the moment) gave the game away?

Judge Smales
I think you need a pretty sweet option to sit Schaub. I think Hasselbeck against a crap D like the Lions qualifies. ..... Â Â Â I'm not falling for that one again. Last time I tried that in week 6. Let's see Hass going against the #30 pass D at home and Schaub on the road at Cincy. Let's see if I can remember the stat lines ... Â Hasselbeck 10 29 112 0 TD 1 INT Schaub 28 40 392 4 TD 1 INT Â Hmm .... Hass at home against a crap D isn't a gimme. Â I had seen the line as well this week about Schaub and AJ playing Indy for the first time this week too. Indy's D really took a hit this week, let's all hope its a 45 - 42 game. Ursa Majoris
I have Schuab AND Johnson....decisions, decisions.... I have them both too and it's not a hard decision at all. Â Mind you, it helps when your backup is Cassel.

PPIchamp
Same here, I sat Schaub for Garrard vs. StL week 6. WOOPS. Now I need to decide between Schaub and Palmer. But that's good to know Hook, thanks. Edited November 7, 2009 by PPIchamp
jetsfan
All the Huddle advice I have seen says to sit Schaub. My alternative is Hasselbeck. I have Schuab AND Johnson....decisions, decisions.... Â Schaub is the #1 QB in fantasy football. Why would you ever consider sitting him?
CaptainHook
Probably because the Colts pass defense is so good. Â IMO, I would NOT sit Schaub.

kingfish247
I'm not falling for that one again. Last time I tried that in week 6. Let's see Hass going against the #30 pass D at home and Schaub on the road at Cincy.... That was an idiotic sit. But let's use our brains this week... Â Not only was it a division game but AZ on D hasn't exactly been a pushover all year. They've been inconsistent but they've been ok. They may have been in #30 or whatever at the time but the two games prior to week 6 they faced Indy and HOU. Since then AZ has leveled off and settled into what they are... a middle of the road defense capable of giving a below average offense like SEA fits. Â Now, with 7 games to sample for the DET pass D... they're dead last in defenseive passer rating, allowing a 70% completion rate, and 18 total TDs. With 7 games for IND pass D... is top 4 in defensive passer rating, allowing 60%, and 3 total TDs. Â For a team and QB like Hasselbeck, sure it's no gimme but you gotta like that he's healthy. He has all his options. He's at home. He's coming off a decent game in DAL. And the Lions are coming to town. Â I like Schaub to do better than the previous QBs that faced IND but expecting a game that much better than Hasselbeck's ceiling this week is a stretch. jetsfan
I like Schaub to do better than the previous QBs that faced IND but expecting a game that much better than Hasselbeck's ceiling this week is a stretch. Â I don't understand the reverence for Indy's passing D. They have faced JAX, MIA, ARI, SEA, TEN, STL, and SF. Of course they are going to have a statistically good passing D, only one of those teams has a decent passing game. Â I am a firm believer in the "Always Start Your Studs" mentality. Schaub is a stud. He does not get the fantasy stud recognition around here that he deserves. Would you sit Brees, Manning or Brady to start Hasselbeck? Schaub has more points this season than all 3 of them. Had Schaub not been injured last year, he was projected to be the #4 QB in fantasy. Â I just don't get it, why sit a guy who is healthy and gets the most points?

kingfish247
....I just don't get it, why sit a guy who is healthy and gets the most points? Then don't sit him. Not saying Schaub should sit. Of course they are going to have a statistically good passing D, only one of those teams has a decent passing game.As mentioned in this week's Start/Bench List for Matt Schaub, "Indy has given up half the scores Buffalo has and fewer yardage to boot; they've also held 12 straight quarterbacks (and 23 of the past 24 they've faced) to one or zero touchdown passes." I won't argue that they've had a weak passing schedule so far. But 23 of the last 24? At what point do you have to give them at least some credit? rattsass
I have sat Schaub twice this season based on "tough match-ups" and got burned crispy both times when Hasselbeck crashed and burned in his "easy match-up." Â Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. Fool me three times I should just go ahead and kill myself. Â And I don't care what enybody says. Schaub starts. Lets see how this works out...
