Furd
Every year about this time there are numerous threads about whether this trade or that trade should be vetoed. Almost invariably, the OP does not say anything about a league rule concerning trade vetos. Invariably, there are a host of replies in which opinions are offered on the subject. Is there some type of universal trade veto standard, incorporated into every league, that I don't know about? If so, does this universal rule only apply to leagues that do not have a trade veto rule? Or does the universal rule trump every league trade veto rule such that I don't need to know the actual league rule to comment on the proposed trade? Seahawks21
Collusion is the only reason any trade can be vetoed, period. Any other rule is BS.

Many free leagues through Yahoo, Foxsports and CBS will often times default to allow trade vetoes among owners. Especially if it's public leagues where no one really knows each other. This phenomenon of people providing opinions and advice (and staunchly defending their stance) on situations in which they are unaware of the particular leagues rules and not provided complete information is not restricted to just trade scenarios. jordanzs
^^ Dang, I saw the beginning of that thread, but not the collusion part. That's pretty jacked up!

I'm not going to get into a debate with you or anyone else on these boards on this. It's pointless IMO, but just FYI... there are other opinions out there. I'll leave it at that. The bottom line is that if you're going to allow someone to play in your league, you need to let them control their team, period. If you don't like the way an owner does his business, you either should have done some homework before you let said owner into the league, or kick him out after the season. I won't pay money to play in leagues with owners who don't know what the heck they are doing, because they ultimately will make horrible trades with the better owners and alter the league. If you chose to sleep in that bed, it was your own choice. Quit whining and let the owner do whatever he deems necessary for his own team. I believe moves were made out of stupidity and not collusion, so my choice is to not return next year. Although I do believe in some sort of integrity of the league oversight (do not drop lists maybe???), but it is a slippery slope.
