chester
I offered a trade on Wed (Chris Johnson for Ray Rice - sounds unfair but I can keep Rice next year and not Johnson). I'm not asking if it was a fair trade. I put in my lineup on Thurs. The trade is accepted on Sat and I'm not near a computer till today. MFL took Johnson out of my lineup and didn't put in Rice, which is fine, it should be up to me to check that, but obviously I would have started Rice instead of nobody. Commish offers to put him in this afternoon since he's playing tonight even though we're not allowed to change lineups after noon Sun. It could make a difference in who wins. Do I take the loss or accept his offer since that's what I intended to do? As a commish myself, I don't know what I'd do.
Bengal Mania
Thursday games play hell w/ FFL. I don't like them Kudos to you for being fair in considering this. Not sure how trades work on your website. If Johnson and Rice are obvious startes on both rosters, then I'm not sure why computer wouldn't have automatically inserted him. But if Rice was on your roster, and you didn't leave a clear message to Commish and opponent that "when trade goes thru I want Rice in lineup", then I think you're sunk. FYI - you must already be out of contention this season, because there's NO WAY you trade CJ for Rice for next year if you're in it this year; CJ can carry a team deep in the playoffs. So if it's true you're out of it, it doesn't matter how this dilemma goes. ts
Unhappily, I think you need to accept the loss - unfortunate timing on the trade and that you were unable to re-submit a valid lineup, but since you did not / could not do so, I think you are stuck with the goose egg for that position on the day. Big Country
We should ask swammi for his opinion IMO, you take the loss.

buddahj
that's why my league doesn't lock players until the start of their game.

And not free. They're dumb.

chester
that's why my league doesn't lock players until the start of their game. I've been trying to get them to do that for years. Too old school/hardheaded.
MrTed46
Why don't you ask your opponent? If he has a problem with it then just back down but if he's understanding then he will allow it. I would allow my opponent and if I were comish and it happened in my league I would insert him because its obvious.
MustOfBeenDrunk
Heck no ,, never take a lose ,,, go down swinging ,, hit him with an uppercut ,,, if don't do all you can to win than it's the same as tanking. Now pick up that two by four and smack that sucker upside the head. bite him if you have too !! failing is not an option

chester
I've never met my opponent and have never even emailed him or spoken to him on a message board. He's friends with the commish. I told the commish to contact him, explain the situation and let him decide before kickoff tonight.

If he is okay with it, then you should be able to plug the player in, but I would say you are not "entitled" to put Rice in, but perhaps your opponent will allow the common sense aspect to override the rule. Cunning Runt
How was a trade processed after the start of games for the week in the first place? That's what I want to know.
chester
How was a trade processed after the start of games for the week in the first place? That's what I want to know. You're right, I double checked and it was actually Thurs right before kickoff. I could still have put Rice in between then and kickoff Sun. I freely admit that it was my fault. Thats's what I get for offering a trade and then not being at a computer till Mon.

Ya - I always make sure to cancel all my trade offers before kickoff of the first game. All kinds of Athenae can go wrong if you leave 'em hanging out there. montster
How was a trade processed after the start of games for the week in the first place? That's what I want to know. i'm in leagues that allow trades after the start of games, so long as none of the players involved have played yet.
