Flip_Side
I know he played last year but can he still win the award?
Whiskey Pimp
It will be Tom Brady.
MustOfBeenDrunk
It will be Tom Brady. depending on how they finish the season ? Ricky also has a shot if Miami makes the playoffs with him putting up solid performances

Captain Ogre
Brady will win it, no doubt. But Benson deserves it more. What did Ricky come back from? Being damn good last year? It was still nice finding him on my bench, though, when Michael Turner got hurt, while the team I'm battling for a first round bye in the playoffs had Ronnie Brown and had to scramble to the waiver wire for another RB
budlitebrad
VY ain't a bad choice either.
i_am_the_swammi
Some solid candidates....but my choice is Benson, taking a pathetic Bengals team and leading them from ugliness to respectability. His worth is known even more now that the Bengals lost to the lowly Raiders without him. Brady may not even lead his team to a better record than they achieved without him last year
tazinib1
I'm not so sure you should give a CBPOTY to a guy that was injured all year. That award should be given to a guy that has shown starter calibur stats, had an off year, then worked his ass of the next to achieve that level again. Just my
Goopster24
Don't see Ricky winning it. Not with the other names that have been mentioned having great seasons and their own circumstances.
pig devilz
Favre he never left, to be able to come back......no wait! he did leave. didn't he? that's right he did! Oh, no he didn't. My memory fails me...sheesh, I sound like Ricky Williams. Brady, game, set and match.
BeeR
? "Coming back" from an injury doesn't count. It should go to someone from whom little is expected that had high expectations and/or hopes before. If Benson doesn't win it the award is a joke. esp if Brady wins. Course this is the NFL we're talking about so..... Edited November 29, 2009 by BeeR
piratesownninjas
I'd go Vince Young or Caddy. It will be Tom Brady because he so damned cute though, and that's what really matters, right?
Biscuit
Favre 'Nuff said! Oh...wait...he'll be MVP after winning the Super Bowl won't he?!?! Can he win both?!?!? Edited November 29, 2009 by Biscuit

Biscuit
Where did he go last year? Hot start, implosion, 9-7 with the Jets, retirement, arm surgery, Brad Childress, reinstatement, Brad Childress, 9-1, Super Bowl?!?!? Hell, if that doesn't qualify for Comeback Player of the Year what does?!?!

Hell, if that doesn't qualify for Comeback Player of the Year what does?!?! The implosion had more to do with him being stubborn, and he didn't miss any time so I would have ahard time handing it to him. Brady had to have his knee completely re-worked, as did caddy for the how ever manyeth time, and Vince Young was possibly dealing with Suicide and had his mentor murdered... I have to think it's one of those three guys.

Bring Back Pat!!!
If Brady wins, it has nothing to do with him being Brady and the NFL wanting him to win, blah, blah, blah. There is more than enough precedent of players coming back from injury to win it. Just ask Chad Pennington, twice. And Greg Ellis. And Steve Smith. Benson is just as worthy of the award. Perhaps they'll share it like Bruschi did with Steve Smith.
