Revis - Is he REALLY that good?

Never ever did I think I would consider benching a stud WR based on a matchup before, but Revis just keeps shutting down stud WR's week after week. At this point, I am thinking of benching any teams' #1 WR when they face the Jets. Steve Smith had one catch for 5 yards yesterday, although he did have a TD over turned on replay review.

The Jets play Buffalo on Thursday. I don't own TO, but if I did, he'd be on the bench this week despite his recent resugence. Am I wrong?

That TD on Smith (if it were upheld) couldnt even be blamed on him, it was a perfect throw and I always say you can't defend a perfect throw. Smith actually mishandled it slightly (thank god cuz I played smith).

Revis is top 3 CB in league ATM and I would not feel comfortable playing against him. TO is a GREAT WR who is improving on the season, so I would probably still play him but I wouldnt be happy about it.

I hear ya. I have had TO on my bench since week 3 but broke him back out this weekend. Now just in time for my wcoff championship game I could really use him again, but the matchup concerns me. My only other option is Robert Meachem, which isn't a totally bad option, but at this point I would rather use him so I can bench Houshymama.

Decisions, decisions....any chance he covers Lee Evans instead?

I think he will split off TO every now and then and swap. CAR only had Smith so it was a no brainer.

Oh, yes, he is that good. They just don't build them that fast and yet still overwhelmingly physical. He reminds me a lot of a young Ty Law. With Ashamoughah being slightly less than perfect this year, I think it would be fair to say Revis is currently the best cover guy in the business. I've watched recordings of a few of his games just focusing on him, and that guy is an absolute glove.

He's a true shutdown corner, that's for sure. He's also got a ton of "playmaking" ability. Got a little of Champ Bailey, Charles Woodson in him.

I think he's still behind the likes of Nnamdi Asomugha and heck, even Bailey/Woodson at this point, but he's well on his way to being THE elite shutdown corner in the NFL.

 When does he become a free agent? :D

The same person?

That's funny. Must have been late last night. I even looked it up at one point to make sure I spelled it right, then still came out with that garbage. Now that is the true sign that a name is too difficult.
