loaf
I'm probably gonna roll with Jamaal Charles anyway this weekend but just saw this: Smith (ankle) has been ruled out of Sunday's game against Denver, KCChiefs.com's Josh Looney reports. According to the Kansas City Star's Kent Babb, the injury could be season-ending. Recommendation: With Smith out and Dantrell Savage doubtful, Kansas City will need to make a roster move before Sunday unless it wants to face the Broncos with only one healthy running back (Jamaal Charles). One possibility for freeing up a roster spot would be to place Smith on injured reserve, a move that could come later on Friday. Chief Dick
It's Charles and that's it. And I saw the same report this morning. Smith is done for the year from all indications. The only way Charles comes out is if he's hurt or needs a quick breather. No one will take carries from him.

I grabbed him in a deal three weeks ago for his playoff schedule....now he's gonna carry the full load? How many RBs in the NFL get that? maybe 8 tops? I need him to come through this week so I can win my conference and high points...both payouts.

I also thought LJ was done and this would have happened earlier. So it has been a loonnnng time coming for me.
trout
I drafted him - dropped him - then picked him up off waivers when LJ went off with homophobic slurs. GO CHEIFS
PPIchamp
I'm leaning towards playing Charles ahead of Barber and McCoy this week, my league is PPR and rewards return yardage. He may lose his return duties this week, but being an exclusive #1 guy like he will be this week is golden. Does K. Smith and Savage being out bump Charles up to an S2? Hanson Brothers
In a PPR League I think you would find few to dispute he is a legit S2 or RB#2 at this point. The only thing stopping him from RB1 status is obviously his anemic offense. Barber honestly is bench material at this point.

His poor defense doesnt hurt him much because of his involvement in the passing game. Chiefs get behind they throw to him more. Right now he is one of the few every down backs in the NFL. Id start him for sure. If he can put up good numbers against the Steelers, he is usable against anyone.
