Worst team in a full keeper Dynasty league

Dont Rookie Me........

Im looking for advice from anyone that might know a way to get into a keeper league where the last place guy is quitting for obvious reasons. The league is with friends whom I would like to play with, but it seems hopeless to me. Any ideas on taking over a last place team in a keeper would be appreciated. I am sure this problem has come up in the past and something has to be done with a team this bad. I did not check spelling and grammar so much as copy and paste my thoughts. Thanks in advance for any and I mean any ideas.

Analysis of a team in a 12 man PPR Full Keeper league.

Start 2RB, 2wr, flex, TE, K and D

This team does have some draft picks in the second round this year from Wildfire and Shock and Awe in third round from shock and awe again, but it is only a rookie draft.

4-10 record, fewest Points in league at 1246 points ,while the leader is hovering around 1993, a 747 point difference. This team is going to have to get 60% more efficient to compete, with the worst bench. The bench is over 300 points lower then everyone else in league with only a rookie draft to compete. In fact the I would say the average bench scores 1100 a year and Mildos did not exceed 600. So there is roughly a 500 point difference in bench average and 400 point difference in starter average (I would need to find 900 points to be average, that is 72% better...to be average). Also 6 benches have almost the same number of points as Mildos starters and 8 are with 150 points of our starters.

4 players in top 100 and one being TO.

Roster

QB- Not one QB in top 20

Cassel (some upside but 22nd in league...now so he can only move up right?), Edwards (fodder)

Overall F

RB- Not one RB in top 33 (who the when I wore my first dress did he take first round in a keeper league PORTIS and as I see it no viable starters next year).

Coffee (upside if he gets traded), Portis (on the down slope, 29, injury riddled, trade bait if someone were to bite although highly unlikely), Williams may have some value if the team gets better but he may also be in a RBBC, the rest Ware, Ward, Jennings, Moore uh well enough said

Overall F

WR- 2 in top 30 including TO who in my opinion at 37 is pretty much done, maybe one more year at most

Breaston third receiver on a pass happy team, Cribbs (great upside if he makes it as a RB), Floyd (5th year never had above 30 catches), TO (turning 37), Steve Smith (solid, best player on the team), Walter (not a fan much but does OK across from who I consider to be the best WR in football, gets hurt a lot)

Overall D (one viable starter, this is only a D because the first two were so bad)

TE

Celek (stud in the making good upside coming into third year), Lewis is so so I think you may be able to pick up better on the waiver wire.

Overall A (Maybe we could trade Celek for a whole team who knows)

K

Ryan Longwell 3rd on the list

Overall A it is a when I wore my first dressing kicker and the 6th place kicker is a free agent

D

Cincinnati 10th on the D list with potential upside, NY Giants remind me of Swiss Cheese

Overall C

Top team in league

QB Warner followed by Stafford

RB Johnson, R. Bush Moreno, M. Bush and Felix J

WR Wayne, Welker, Marshall, Ocho, Morgan and who the when I wore my first dress cares this guy is set at WR in a PPR league for a few years to come.

Sorry ___...this is not just taking over a team...this is a money pit with little hope of a future...and that is if you get the rookie draft right on every year for 4 ro 5 years. There is no future RB at all. The Starters suck, except Smith and Celek and the bench is worse. I'm out, sorry bro, but this team is dare I say the worst team I have ever seen with two good starters, no bench and no up and comers.

All the love. I wish you luck filling this spot...I think it is going to be real though. Get someone that knows nothing of football imo, maybe your wife!

so this is a keeper where you literally keep everyone? Ouch.

Use those 2nd rounders to nab the best qb available, and yes draft the best rookie RB on the board round 1.

Breaston could easily be a starter next year, where will boldin go? Do some serious ppr digging at WR, land the devone bess' of the world.

Finally do not be afraid to trade future draft picks for young quality players off of other fledgling teams.

I'm sure the other guys appreciate you stepping in for this team, so give your best effort and take a glass is half full approach. Could be a year or 2 but it is kinda fun turning around a franchise!

See if they'll give you some compensatory draft picks or hold some kind of expansion draft (that might be complicated)

We had to do compensatory picks. We gave one to the new owner at the end of round 1 and a 3rd. Try and get them to pay 2 years upfront. You laugh but who will want this team???

The only way I would take over a team like this would be to get some players from other teams in some sort of expasion draft, let everyone keep X players and then the "new guy" gets to pick X players from what's left. No team could lose more than one player or something like that. Otherwise you are just throwing your money away IMO by taking over this team.

Another option may be to let the "new guy" play for free for 2 years to try to build up his team, again anyone paying for this without any possible way of competing is crazy.

The other teams in the league risk having an empty team in the league if they don't do anything. I've never played in league like this so not sure if any of these would work or not, just the first ideas that came to mind.

+1

Having the other guys pitch in somehow (be it through an expansion draft or by letting the new guy play for free for a bit) is the only logical solution. It's not about being fair, it's about avoiding contraction. There's a million and half leagues out there to join, so why would anyone voluntarily take on this crap?

I agree ,, two years ago we had a similar situation. We allowed the new owner two extra picks 1.15 & 2.15 ( 14 team dynasty )

Plus he played for 1/2 price the 1st year. This was his 3rd. year and he made the playoffs as a wild card but was eliminated the 1st round.

Making the playoffs = $300.00 and it's a $500.00 entry fee ,,, so not bad
