i_am_the_swammi
First I'd seen it. Listed the injury as a back problem (which he's been battling). Can't find any other confirmation in print. Even checked the local rags. Should be noted that Eagles did indeed activate Martin Rucker from the practice squad today. Anyone hear anything? ABearWithFurniture
They interviewed Brent right after practice today and he said he was going to play this weekend...so you'd have to wonder what's happened since then to change his mind. keggerz
http://twitter.com/geoffmosher/statuses/6741293343 Reid said Rucker's call-up had nothing to do with Brent Celek's aching back. http://950espn.com/Blogs/tabid/192/article...53/Default.aspx -TE Brent Celek sits out practice; battling back problems: Rising from the seat of his chair following one of the Eagles' team meetings before Sunday's game at the Giants, Celek suffered a fluke back strain. Today, Andy Reid said Celek felt sore, then quickly added that he expects the tight end to "be ready to go this weekend" against San Francisco. Still, in a move of precaution, Reid held Celek out of this afternoon's practice. Celek, though, observed the session from the sidelines in his jersey and sweatpants. He participated in the Birds' walkthrough this morning. In the Eagles' Nova Care Complex lockerroom following today's workout, Celek had little interest in discussing his condition, other than to reiterate he's "fine." Good luck getting Celek to elaborate on injuries. The gritty, tough tight end doesn't want to give the remotest impression that he's making an excuse for himself, and also doesn't want to draw the ire of a head coach constantly monitors players' remarks about their health. While there was speculation Tuesday that the recent elevation of TE Martin Rucker from the practice squad to the active roster had to do with concerns over Celek's health, a team source told 97.5 The Fanatic that the personnel department had contemplated making the transaction several weeks ago; however, at that time, depth issues at other positions interfered from the move taking place. i_am_the_swammi
Good news Keg...Comcast is still showing him listed as "OUT", but is showing others listed as "Limited"....I am guessing it was just a report on today's practice. Very misleading. Big John, feel free to lock this up.
