Rovers
We all know the Jets had no chance to beat the Colts last week, or the Bengals this week, but both teams clearly laid down and lost to the Jets just to make sure the Steelers didn't make the playoffs. Now the charity case Jets have to go to Cincy and get mauled next week. Not. This is not some doormat team. They have a lousy rookie QB, but the rest of the team is easilly playoff quality. In fact, in some facets of the game, better, even much better than a lot of other playoff bound teams. I say the Jets win next week. Sig line bets in order. Sign up here. The Waterboy
That was a pretty impressive win. Even with the Bengals holding a couple guys back. The Bengals offense got too conservative over the season and they haven't won a game of any kind of merit in almost two months. Not a great spot for them. Let's hope young Sanchez and the boys don't get too overconfident, though. If 37-0 embarrassed the Bengal's lines enough to rejuvenate their running game, next week could be a lot tighter. Infinity
The Bengals had all their guys in the first half, except Benson. Couldn't compete with the Jets DEF.

Only 3 of the wins were against teams that made it into the playoffs (and even then, two of them were against teams that weren't playing to win). They are playing good football right now, but I also think their stats are a little padded by the last two weeks of preseason football and an easier schedule. tonorator
i think the bengals will bounce back and make it a much more interesting game. benson was missed, as were several players on defense that could have started but didn't. no question the jets kicked them in the mouth and while i would have liked things to be a bit more respectable, i'm certainly not sad about pittsburgh sitting on the sidelines and getting another chance at the jets at home. I know the Jets W-L record, especially against winning teams is not good, but it is also a bit misleading. Many of those games were winnable, if not for a rookie QB that threw 21 INT's. The Jets defense only gave up 8 (EIGHT) offensive touchdowns all year. Any team with a defense like that is dangerous. Then the Jets have (depending upon how you measure it) the number one rushing offense in the NFL. The achilles heel is Sanchez. Cincy will force him to throw, even if it takes nine in he box. Sanchez will have to play his best game since Semptember if the Jets are to win. That isn't much though... 200 yards with a TD and no turnovers would be enough, most likely. It's going to be all about Sanchez. The Jets have propped him up all year, and in the playoffs, he has to play like an NFL QB. He hasn't done that in months. I just heard a radio report on ESPN 1050 NY... Ocho tweeted today that he could not straighten his kneee this morning, and is headed out to get an MRI. Stay tuned... Couldn't compete with the Jets DEF. missing their starting DT (Domato Peko) was hugh too...just look at the yards that the Jets gashed the def for...not saying the Jets cant run effectively with Peko playing more than just benson was missing
Rovers
I guess I'll have to start a new thread to get the Bengals fans to go for a sig line bet.
electricrelish
I said it before, and I'll say it again. If you have a chance to eliminate a team, you should so so. The Colts should have tried to go ahead and eliminate the Jets. I would love it if the two teams have to play again. This Jets D had a set back when they lost Kris Jenkins, but they appear to have slowly gotten better. I'm not sure it's enough with that inept offense led by a rookie who doesn't seem to be improving.

Pope Flick
Someone said 2 of the 3 rematch games go to the first winner. I think this is one of them. The Jets play nasty D, and that makes the diff in games like this. Edited January 5, 2010 by Pope Flick
