RJV
Link I would worry about winning a playoff game 1st. They did play the Eagles fairly well Sun but I agree with you 100%. Besides there are 2 major facts going against the Boys. 1. Andy Reid has NEVER lost a 1st round playoff game and 2. In the 7 times where the regular season finale and the 1st round playoffs were played by the same 2 teams back to back, the team that won the regular season game won the playoff game just 1 time. rajncajn
I hope they don't because I would like the Saints to have a second shot at them in the dome, but I think the Cowgurls will choke against the Eagles in their second match-up. Seriously, I think the Eagles will win, but those kind of statistics are silly to base an argument on.

rajncajn
How so? How does that have any real relevance to the game? Every situation in every game is completely unique. It's like the argument that Brett Favre couldn't win a cold weather game. They're the type of statistics that are drummed up to try to make the game more interesting. I would be willing to bet that you could find just as many statistics for Dallas that negate those. Something like, "when Dallas has gone on a 3 game winning streak entering the playoffs they have gone on to win the Superbowl." (disclaimer: don't know if that is true, but you get the point)
whomper
Please note: This thread was not started by a Cowboys fan As far as the content. Baby steps as far as I am concerned. They seemed to get the late regular season collapse Monkey off of their backs. Now we need to translate that to some playoff success. Kansas State 2000
The road to the SB would probably mean Dallas would have to beat the Eagles, Vikings and then the Saints. They would be on a six game winning streak ... does anyone really think Dallas will not slip up and have a bad game? GB is playing so well right now I'd be concerned about them as well. Dallas could be NFC champs be I doubt it.

To this point I do also agree that these facts won't prove that the Eagles will win Sat but in the "unique" sense, the above facts are unique in there own right wouldn't you say? Please don't assume that I think the Eagles are going to win automatically based on what I stated, all I was doing is to bring up some strong facts that have held true for several seasons. Avernus
my prediction before the season was packers vs Colts.....but right now I think we're looking at Packers vs Chargers.. either one is a high probability....

Sure they're unique, but neither of those facts will have any impact whatsoever on this weeks game. It's interesting to point them out, but neither of them are working against the Cowboys. What I do think is that, given the week to go over the game tape, Reid will have a better game plan against the Cowboys. I also think the Eagles will do a better job of protecting McNabb & he will be able to get into a rhythm. Overall I still think the Eagles are a more talented & better coached team, but the Cowboys have obviously been on a roll & like against the Saints they didn't do enough to stop their momentum.
