Saints have re-signed DE Paul Spicer with the open roster spot.

Spicer is a 10-year NFL veteran who first joined the Saints as a free agent last spring and played in all four preseason games with the team before being released in the final preseason cutdown. The 6-4, 295-pound lineman has played in 117 career games and tallied 349 tackles (241 solo), 28½ sacks, an interception, 19 pass defenses, seven forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries

Grant has underperformed this year. I hope this turns out to be a good thing for the Saints. I'd love to see what Hargrove can do with more time on the edge.

He may have underperformed but losing a starting DE is still losing a starting DE no matter how you slice it. (I'll agree that its not nearly the blow it would have been if we lost Will Smith).

I did think this was pretty funny in the comment section of the NOLA article though...

"Injuries happen all the time. Especially to Charles Grant".
