sundaynfl
I am almost done with my man cave in our foreclosure home we bought last Feb. and am starting to plan my landscaping and deck/patio. I have always wanted a pizza oven and am going to have one shipeed from Italy. I will build a stand and wood storage under it along with a masonary walll tying into it. If anyone has one advice is appreciated!

There was a recent thread on Ebob that may be of interest though: http://dat.erobertparker.com/bboard/showth...highlight=pizza
detlef
I've never owned one but worked for a couple that had one built. I learned one very important lesson, make sure you situate it in a manner that is shielded from wind. They were excessively wealthy and built an entire large pergola and platform on top of a hill over-looking the ocean. Visually very stunning but the wind blew straight into the m'effer and it was really hard to get as hot as intended on all but perfect days. Kind of a waste considering the fact that I'm sure the project set them back at least 25K. I know, a random thought and issue but something to, perhaps, consider. Also, get the book Pizza Neopiltana (sp?). It has the official DOC Pizza dough recipe which is, without question, the finest dough I've ever made for pizzas. Hell, when I get a chance, I'll post it hear because we use it at home with simply a pizza stone and 550 oven.

Not sure I would do it. I could have one bad-ass smoker and a The Egg for that.

sundaynfl
I have one. http://media.photobucket.com/image/big%20g.../AZRP/pizza.jpg Can you put 3 or 4 pizzas on at once?? How hot does it get? The pizza oven gets up around 800-900 degrees and is has a lot more visual appeal than a BGE increasing my home value and marketability.... However, I can get The Egg up to 800+ degrees. And finally, there can be nothing more visually appealing than a Big Green Egg. I can show you the path, but I cannot make you walk upon it. Considering how quickly a pizza cooks in one of those things, there's no need to be able to fit 3-4 at once. You can't assemble them as quickly as a good oven can cook 'em.
