Something happened in between. We don't even see the security arrive. I'm not saying who's right or wrong, but we don't know what happened. I was at a Charlotte Bobcats basketball game before where someone was yelling for me and my g/f to sit down. It was late in the 4th quarter and we had just made a huge shot to take the lead against the Cavs. Half the people in the arena were standing. This guy's g/f tries to force my g/f to sit down, so she starts yelling at them and so do I. It's one thing to have a verbal disagreement, but once you touch someone else, then it's a situation that can possibly get out of hand. I see a cop who's working security and tell him that these people are harassing us. He knows the people, so he does absolutely nothing. After the game, I ask the cop why he did nothing, and he tells me that I need to calm down and let it go. He puts his hand on my shoulder like he's going to handle me in case I try something. I go to customer service and complain, and they have nothing to tell me. I contemplated going to the police department to complain since I got his name, but I decided that I really don't need an enemy at the police department over something this minor. Again, we don't know what the guy did because it's obvious that something occurred that the footage is not showing. It's good to see that they do something unlike the security at a Charlotte Bobcats game or the security at a Philadelphia Eagles game. That was my initial thought as well, but if you watch the entire video, at the end, one Charger fan is seen exchanging phone numbers with the Jets fans girl, and another Charger fan keeps yelling that the Jets fan didn't do anything and even gets into a confrontation with an officer at the end and is escorted away. i_am_the_swammi Posted January 19, 2010 Share Posted January 19, 2010 In today's world of providing a family-friendly enviorment, and with people having the ability to call or text stadium security from their seats, all it takes is one person to make the call and say (whether correctly or incorrectly) that someone is being inappropriate. In this case, i am guessing there was likley someone in or around the Jet fan's section that had heard enough of his taunting, and said "This guy wants to rub our noses in it? I'll fix him". When the Jets fan then resists the police, it likely goes further to the point that he is guilty. Sad, but likely happens more than is caught on video. I've no desire to ever again go to a pro sporting event (and college is on its way) because of aholes like the ones el-r mentioned, and that was tame compared to some I've seen/heard of. When LT comes running out of the gate carrying the flag prior to the National Anthem I yell "that's the best run he'll have all day!" (which it was) and the guy in front of me almost challenged me to a fight. Later, all they can scream is "Bears suck!" and mind you, this was coming off the Chargers 14-3 season and the Bears' Super Bowl appearance. Grossman throws a few balls into the ground in front of his receivers (big surprise) and all I hear is "Grossman sucks!" from the guy who wanted to fight. Then Rivers does the same thing in one of the next posessesions and I yell "He pulled a Grossman!" for which they only had a weird look on their face as if to say "how can you say that?" No response. Because of the media-stimulated tag the city gets, I'd venture to say security at an Eagles game (these days) is about as tight as any stadium in the NFL. It stands to reason the time-lapse is because whoever owned the video camera obviously wouldn't be filming the Jets fan throughout the entire game unless there was some reason to. I'm sure a lot went on off camera & I'm sure the guy probably got belligerent when the cops told him he had to leave the game that he likely paid a lot to go see. Wrong move on his part obviously, but based on the crowd around him taking up for him it's also obvious they had no cause to make him leave in the first place. If that guy ( the Jets fan) was wearing a Romo jersey and chanting "Cowboys" at an Eagles game would the fans: a. call security b. stick up for him when the police arrived c. fill his mouth with bloody chiclets I have'nt been to an Eagles game since ( I believe) '92. Have you seen the footage of the Eagles fans at the 49ers fans? What I was wondering is why security was not taking out the people that were throwing the snowballs. Granted they couldn't have caught everyone, but there were folks that were in the row ahead of them throwing snowballs and security did nothing to them.
