That's a long enough kick that teams won't even bother attempting it unless it's the end of a half. Now, if they were on the 35? Then, sure, you try to gain another 5-10 to make it an easier kick but throw it away if nothing's there. However, in that situation, I can completely understand trying to force a play and not settling for an INC. Now, maybe he can tuck and run, but I'd need to see the play again. ETA: I guess they were inside the 40, I thought they were just outside it. I suppose that changes things somewhat, but it would still be a career long FG. He could have run for the yardage and in the title game against the Giants had easier throws. He had a great year but he is a gun slinger and you have to live with the turnovers.
