Cunning Runt
Just curious - Some might just want to see a good game and not care who wins; some have betting interests; some may have a conference allegiance; and some may just like/dislike a certain team or player; underdog.....all kinds of reasons. Just curious how people decide who to pull for in the SB if their team is not in it. Edited January 25, 2010 by Cunning Runt
bpwallace49
For me it is individual players I like . . or the underdog. I am rooting for the Saints to get their first ever Super Bowl victory . . especially since they are 5 point underdogs right now . .

The Holy Roller
I'm rooting for the team with the 6'5" QB with the laser arm and best commercials on TV!
kpholmes
I'm rooting for the team with the 6'5" QB with the laser arm and best commercials on TV! Yea, Peyton Manning's pretty good...if you like 6'5", 230-pound quarterbacks with laser-rocket arms. But for me, after my favorite teams are out - it's all about my favorite players. Puddy
I really like watching both of these teams. Outside of my betting interests, I was hoping to see this SB. But now that they are in it, I'm rooting for the Saints. Just love how the team has improved and the whole post-Katrina story and what this team means to that city. Plus I get an extra hundy if the Saints win.
MrTed46
1. Giants 2. Jets 3. the team I hate the least but usually the underdog (Jets fan in me) I will never root for the Cowboys, Philly, Wash.

i_am_the_swammi
Once the Eagles are out, I usually root for or against a team based on their character. For instance, even though I hate the Giants, i was rooting for them to upset the undefeated Pats and their smug coach. On the other hand, it was hard not to root for the Colts in 2007, especially with the grief Dungy endured with the loss of his son. This year, with no one to really root for or against, I'll likely just be hoping for a good game.
Seahawks21
I usually root for the better story. Most often the underdog. This year I would have rooted for Favre against just about anybody.

Sunday Couch Potatoe
Usually the best storyline but in this one it could be tough because I have the same respect for both organizations. There are also alot of players I would love to see win it all this season! Manning of course cause he's a class act and an absolute beast. Brees because he also is a class act and has helped put New Orleans back together piece by piece and a stud of course. And many others on both teams to root for so I hope for a great game which I'm sure is inevitable. Whoever wins I will be happy for and also disappointed for the loser of this game. Probably the first time in a while I will just be entertained and not really pull for either team more than the other. Congrats to both and here's to fireworks on FEB. 7TH. Chargerz
This year I'm rooting for Drew Brees, a former Charger QB, and Reggie Bush, another player with local ties.

BadgerBacker
If the Packers are out, I root for the division. In this case the Vikings, although I received a lot of commentary for that. If the NFC North is out, I hope for good, competitive games, and may root for teams with players and coaches I like.

Rovers
I usually root for the AFC team, but I'm going NO in this one. I don't hate the Yankees, I hate their fans. So, going against the Colts fans, who are starting to get as annoying as Pats fans got for a while, it's an easy one. GO SAINTS!
