So there's at least one person who thinks the Saints will win but hopes they won't because I voted the other way and it was 4/2 Colts in both polls after my vote.

The Saints, to me, are a better story and it'd be cool if they finished the job. I just think Colts look more solid right now.

read somewhere the Colts are dead last in running the football, while the Saints are 6th....Without Freeney, it will be difficult for the Colts, but I think the game will be close & lots of fun to watch. Now I just need to figure out what I'm gonna cook that day that won't wreck my diet;)

Freeney's not a run-stopper. On early downs, they bring in Keyunta Dawson against the run.

Poll results are pretty much what I expected, except I did think a few more folks would vote that the Saints actually will win.

Gonna be a tremendous game. The Colts can score, but a key is that most teams don't have the firepower to play catch-up. The Saints clearly do.

As a Colts' fan, I'm not nearly so convinced that they're gonna win. I still voted for 'em mind you.

I'm not getting the voting 3-1 in favor of Colts winning. Saint are easily as good if not better - both have great QBs/passing game, but Saints have better defense (tho neither is great) and better run game easily. Add in Freeney's questionable status taking away pressure on Brees, which is an absolute must, and you have big trouble for the Colts.

I disagree. If Freeney doesn't play I don't think the defense misses a beat. They've been plugging holes all season long, and even Freeney has had a handful of games where he just disappears.

Mathis is showing him up, but you need two elite pass rushers or your defense will be exposed.

I'm kind of with you on this one. While Freeney would (probably will) be missed - the Colts are one of the best teams in the league who can plug in the next guy and he gets the job done.

I still think Freeney will play, but how effective will he really be?? If he does play, I don't see Caldwell/Coyer letting him stay in there too long due to his ineffectiveness (due to his bad wheel).

He was out against the Ravens, Texans, and Jaguars in the regular season and the defense didn't fair too bad without him. Yes none of those teams have quite the same offense as the Saints, but they'll manage if they have to. If you look back at 2007, they went nearly the entire season without him and still had a 13-3 record. He's one of the stars of the defense but he isn't the defense. The drop off without him isn't nearly what the drop off would be if say Manning wasn't able to play or severely limited by a 3rd degree sprain.

I know, I know, those were 2 separate thoughts...then my hubby breaks this one out on me--the colts went virtually undefeated with the worst running game in the league, makes me wonder.....
