polksalet
As many of the old timers know I am pure death when it comes to picking super bowl winners. I have missed 2 since 1990 and those were the Rams and the Colts. My system is extremely simple as I only use three variables. Give one point for each of the following.. Who runs the ball better out of the I. Who stops the run out of the I the best. If these are a tie go with the team with the bigger feature back. I know it is a stupid formula but hey, it works. Let me say that I have less faith in this pick than any since the Colts beat me a few years ago so here goes. Since neither of these teams really runs the ball out of the I most of the time this is hard and upsets the formula. However sine the Saints are one of the better running teams in the league combined with the short passes to Bush I'm going Saints on this one. Stopping the run? Neither of these teams can stop anything. However since the Saints practice against a better running offense i'm going Saints. Variable three does not come into play here. I was extremely iffy on this until Freeney went down. This will allow Brees more time and will allow the play action and the overall running game to be more effective. The MVP of the game will be Pierre Thomas although he will not win the MVP award. I'm calling 31-21 Saints. Once again this is a hard pick. If either the Jets or Vikings were in the Super Bowl they would get my pick. Edited February 5, 2010 by polksalet

polksalet
What if it were Jets vs Vikings? You cant pick both Then it would clearly be the Vikings. I'm glad the Vikings didn't make it as dealing with Favre throws EVERY prediction out the window.
