Good atricle about Manning

Spring, 1998. Manning and Ryan Leaf are projected as the top two picks in the draft. The Chargers, picking second, want to interview both prospects. They send an abbreviated version of their playbook to each and ask them to learn the offense before the interview.

As a reward and a test, the coaches staple a $20 bill to the last page - a clever way to determine if they've read the entire book. Leaf arrives for his interview and never mentions anything about the $20. Clearly, he doesn't know it's there. Manning shows up and immediately thanks the coaches for the $20.

I've never heard that before!

MIAMI—According to his teammates and coaches, Colts quarterback Peyton Manning has been sequestered in the film room at Sun Life Stadium for the last three days reviewing game tape from the Saints' 1974 season. "Can't be too prepared," a bleary-eyed Manning reportedly told a team manager, adding that if the Saints decide to sign former middle linebacker Joe Federspiel, 60, before the game this Sunday, he'll know exactly what adjustments to make. "Could you get me that Rams game from November? I need to see how quick [former strong safety] Johnny Fuller got to the quarterback on the blitz. Go now." Manning later told the Colts defense that they didn't need to watch any of the game film, as the Saints' quarterback in 1974 was "absolutely terrible."

I know there have been many articles wrote about Manning and his preparation for games, and most non Colts fans probably don't care to see another. But I just read this and thought it was a good one, thought I'd share:

GO COLTS!!!!!!!

I'm a non-Colt fan and a fan of a team that is often in the running with the Colts, and I love reading articles on Manning. I have endless admiration for players who ,despite having adequate natural talent to be GREAT, work harder than everyone else to be THE BEST. Jerry Rice was another example of this. Peyton Manning is the best QB I've ever seen, and I predict it will be quite some time before anyone reaches his level.
