Tebow

I think Tebow will be the best QB to come out of the draft this year.I t might not happen next season but it will happen.I know I know too slow funky throwing motion.Seems to me he ran past a lot of folks last year.OOps forgot everyones faster in the NFL guess he will just have to run over them ala Larry Czonka. The kid had the highest passing profenicy in the history of the SEC.Over QBs Like all 3 Mannings,Weurfell,Cutler,Shuler who was highly touted and I believe had a good throwing mechanics who was a bust.I just get so tired of listening to the so called experts who are already writing him off.Sure his throwing motion is different but I can gaurentee there have been plenty of others who didn't measure up to

the experts expectations.Who by the way the closest they have probably gotten to a football field is the 50 yard line with a can of Brew in there hand. The kid is tough smart and willing to do anything to succseed.

So I look for him not only to succseed but to be the best to come out this year.

Ok rip away

I'll admit the more that I watch him and his interviews on NFLN's combine coverage, the more I like him. But he has a LONG road ahead of him.

He's going to have to work behind an experienced quarterback with good mechanics who is willing to mentor, and get a very patient and skilled QB coach.

forget who I saw write this on twitter but the jist was that a ton is being made of his mechanics or lack of and the fact that he will have trouble reading Ds is being overlooked.
Tebow is very intelligent and with the right coach I think reading Ds will come.If he did have a weakness in college it was reading Ds.Oh and by the way in case you couldn't tell I am a die hard Gator fan use to listen to John Reeves throw TDs to Carlos Alvares on a transister radio when I was a kid.Oh and for all you young folks a transister radio was our version of an I-Pod at least I think so considerin I really have no Idea what that is LOL. Tebow was born with all the tools to play football, but not born with the tools necessary to play quarterback in the NFL. The more I watch him, the more I am convinced he will never start a game at QB in the NFL. He could eventually become a very explosive weapon at another position, and the sooner he makes the switch, the sooner he can become a successful NFL player.

Any QB that thinks he is going to run over NFL defensive players won't last a half.

i had transistor radios too...another thing the young-ins probably don't know much about...black and white TVs...yep thought I was hot sh1t when I got one for my bday for my bedroom when I was young

And only three channels to select from, sometimes four, if you could get the rabbit ears in just the right position.

Even one at 6'3" and 245 pounds I think I can see him runnin over a few LBs and if he gets in the secondary look out.

First of all, 6'3", 245 doesn't mean anything when you go head to head with Ray Lewis or Patrick Willis. Quarterbacks play a vulnerable position, regardless of who is under center (Ironically something Tebow has yet to do). There's a reason the spread option isn't run on the NFL level.

Secondly, your blind bias isn't going to get you very far around here. Realistic projections are valued much more than blind homer's opinions.

while McShay can be d00shy, he had a valid point about Tebow... his new throwing motion looks nice, but it's a NEW throwing motion and that can substantially affect accuracy, for better or worse. No one has a clue what this neo-Tebow can and will do. Huge risk for an earlier pick.

Have to agree. His old throwing motion came from his experience from pitching, and while his new throwing motion is better looking... it has yet to be used in any games.

Not blind Homerism just giving my thoughts.I have seen what he can do.Not many folks are going to run over Lewis, but he might be able to get past Willis a few times.Been playin for a few years was just stating a thought is that not welcome here if so guess I will keep my mouth shut.I was kind of hopeing for a little disscussion but thanks for the kind words.Oh and by the way If I was a Homer I would have all Bucs and Gators on my teams oh wait a minute I do.That was supposed to be humor.

I decided I would come over to the Huddle after meeting some real nice folks in some of the leagues over here.I was hopeing I wouldn'd run into as much holier than though here as over at FBGs.I very rarely posted over there because of all the Morons and I dont plan on going back there or renewing my subscription. But thanks for letting me know about blind bias I surely appreciate it.

Don't worry. The holier than thou morans will show up here soon enough. If you can ignore them you'll be fine.

The Huddle is a pretty cool place.

Really if you think KP is a holier than thou moron, you haven't seen nothing yet. This is a cool place, just put your thick skin on and stick around for a few weeks it gets better(or worse, depending) Oh and stay out of the political discussions.

I don't know that his accuracy can get much worse at this point.

I'll just keep saying what I've been saying - Tebow's intangibles - toughness, leadership, etc - appear to be off the charts. His tangibles which made him one of the greatest college players ever, do NOT translate into those of a great NFL QB.

However, I think if he gets into a situation where he can sit for a year or two and adjust, he might have a shot. I'd find it very tough to bet AGAINST him succeeding but he's not a slam-dunk by any stretch. Anyone drafting him before the late 2nd is severly reaching.

I do not see any situation where he will succeed at QB in the NFL, let alone be the best QB in his class. The speed of teh NFL is ridiculous, and his ability to proces that speed into reading defenses and accurately delivering the ball is questionable. A LOT better "pure" QBS than Tebow have flopped in the NFL . . . and those guys could actually pass accurately in college . . .

I could see him turn into a Randall Cunningham (yes, I can be old school at times) sort of player. Reasonably accurate, able to keep defenses honest with his feet and a very streaky player. This is after much work on and off the field. Any GM worth his salt will see Tebow as a project and draft him accordingly.

1) At this stage in their careers, I don't think anyone is any more excited about running into Willis than they are Lewis.

2) You said in your title that you knew you'd catch some heat. Then, surprise of surprised, you did. Honestly, I've seen worse. And, considering that you're prepared to completely dismiss any notions that anyone has brought up that Tebow could be in trouble at the next level (which is not exactly a unique perspective considering how many agree on this point), it's pretty hard not to write your arguments off as blind homerism. So, like KP said, tap the breaks a bit there.
