Eagles QB trade talks

The Rams were reportedly talking to the Eagles to trade for McNabb says some reporter in St.Louis, but Adam Schefter says the Rams haven't even talked to the Eagles about him...

and why would they?....they would have to give up a 1st or 2nd round pick to get him and they are in re-build mode which means they are a minimum of 3 years away from thinking about being competitive, not to mention they need those picks for the quality young guys to build the team around..

and as much as I'd like to see McNabb go - if not just to shake things up from the same-old...these rumors need to calm the Arthur Blank down...

If anything, the Rams might throw a conditional 2011 pick for Vick depending on how much playing time he gets...but for McNabb? He wouldn't even agree to a long term deal for this to even transpire...

I'm off the soapbox ....for now

49ers have two firsts, and have a one/two year window to capitalize on the loss of Warner, and the rebuilding of the Rams and the Seahawks.

McNabb to 49ers = Deep playoff run

It's a perfect match.

I think McNabb to Arizona is a perfect match.

Other than the OC is a bad match and the new Niner's haven't exactly been breaking the bank for players

Agree. No way Mcnabb goes to St. Louis. There's a lot of crap flying around out there.

It was talked about here locally for a few weeks - McNabb for Boldin straight up. Cardinals however came out and said that they don't have an interest in McNabb - at least on local radio.

I actually don't want Boldin because I fear he is unable to stay healthy...maybe it's his playing style, I don't know what it is...

but DeSean/Boldin/Maclin/Avant would be a strong group of WR's....not to mention having Celek at TE....

Eagles don't need boldin. They have enough good receivers already.

good info here...

the help is needed at OL, DL, LB and DB (preferably Safety)

the return of Bradley will help if he is able to return to form and the addition of either Bullock or Dansby would help....and then sign a FA Safety that is better than say - Sean Jones....and at DE we can sign Kampman for a reasonable price and that would help as well...

after that they could sign an OLineman in FA if they want, or just plunge into the draft to address the needs.....

and also signing someone like Chester Taylor or in a pipe dream Darren Sproles to solidify the RB position...

Kampman, Bullock, CTaylor and Otogwe at Safety would be a strong push in Free Agency...and adding someone like Jahri Evans to the OL would make it even amazing....anything else would be a bonus....or even what I just mentioned...but considering the list I made, this would be the ideal situation for a team that doesn't like to go throwing around money like the Redskins...

That makes zero sense for the Eagles. Desean Jackson is legit, and Jeremy Maclin did as good as can be expected out of a rookie. Remember he was the only thing working for them against Dallas in the playoff game. Personally, I think Maclin by the end of the 2010 season will be looked upon as the best receiver on the Eagles. Even if you're not as high on Maclin as I am, he did everything he was supposed to do as a rookie. So why trade for an expensive, aging wide receiver when you're starting WR's who you've spend a 2nd and a 1st on in back to back seasons have been very good.

Mcnabb is done, year by year he throws more balls in the dirt and over the heads of his recievers. Age has caught up to him and his legs won't allow him to use the mechanics that he had earlier in his carreer. Thus more balls are being thrown inaccurately. This will be his last year as a starting QB and his worst. He was never that accurate in the first place and his delivery is slowing down also which is doom for an NFL QB.

Down hill from here on out folks. Warner was great because he played fast from the areana league and had a smoking fast delivery with great accuracy. Not to mention some great wide outs to throw too.

Mcnabb has never really had a great set of recievers to throw too his enitre carreer. So to be fair had he of had a Fitz and Boldin that would go and get it he may have gone farther and done better, but now it is to late.

Cowboy homer and his blind hatred.

3553-22-10 Is not at all bad. He's not an elite talent, but I think Eagles hatred is blinding you.

It does that alot...... But I would agree that McNabb as far as I can remember, never had a Quality pair of WRs, and that's why he never won the big one. It;s a shame that the Maclin and Jackson have come along too late. I think those two are gong to be very good, but I'm not sure if McNabb has a lot left in the tank.

IMO, keep McNabb one more year, put some serious talent on the O-Line, and replace Westy. I don't have a good read on McCoy, but Taylor would be a nice 1-2 year fit if he doesn't have the talent.

Not really, if you look back, Westbrook was the key to the Philly Offense not Mcnabb. Westbrook was the one you had to control and most of the time teams could not. He would get a swing pass or a screen and go to the house with it. Mcnabb was a compiment but Westbrook made the O go. Now without him Mcnabb is not the player to take over which has been proved every time Westbrook went down, NO!

except last year when they made the playoffs with an above average defense and OL...

Why in the world would you want Bulluck? Spoon is going to be manning the WLB role and Bulluck is coming off a pretty nasty injury that was suffered LATE in the season...thanks but no thanks on Bulluck....and we won't pay Dansby nor do I think we will need too..Bradley should be good to go this year and with him back in the mix our LBs look just fine....the help needed is on the DL....I would LOVE to see them go after Peppers but I don't think they will spend that kind of coin...so that would make Kampman a nice replacement prize...CTaylor would be a nice additon but I think he too will want more coin then the eagles are willing to pay...also don't see them making a play for Atogwe....probably address the position in the draft again.

Bullock can play the strong side...and I want Bullock because our run defense only seems to be as good as our LB's are, so if we had Spoon/Bradley/Bullock then that would be a pretty strong group regardless if Bradley and Bullock are coming off injury or not - plus Bullock won't cost too much...and I threw Dansby in there because that's the only other LB I know that is available, not because I think that we will even make a small play for him..

and at DL we only really need a big DE and the rest is depth which we pretty much have. They won't get Peppers because the market will make him way too expensive and I don't think he'll produce anywhere near what his pay will be so we pretty much agree on Kampman. CTaylor won;t be as expensive as you think because there are so many teams that think they can get a quality RB via draft that CTaylor won't net too much coin....plus you have LT, BWest and Sproles available on the market....

And I personally think they should address safety in FA...Atogwe would be a nice fit because he's young and shined on a horrible defense, he could come here and be a nice surprise imo...plus we'll address the secondary via draft anyways like we always do...

there are a few guarantees in the draft - OL, DL, and DB....so we have to address LB in FA....and hopefully RB...

I completely forgot that Kamp tore his ACL last year too...I honestly would rather stay away from him and bullock because of the ACL issues...but especially Bulluck.

yeah, that's why Kamp can be had cheaper...and right now we need more players with a high football IQ regardless of whether or not they are still able to perform at the top of their level...

some of these young guys that we have don't seem to have leadership qualities...
