hooknladder
Rams reel in Robbins Posted by Mike Florio on March 8, 2010 2:00 PM ET Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo served as the Giants' defensive coordinator before getting the job in St. Louis. A year later, Spagnuolo has reunited with one of the more unsung members of the team's defensive line. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that defensive tackle Fred Robbins has agreed to terms on a three-year deal that could be worth up to $12 million. It remains to be seen whether the Rams will make additional moves. Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch recently pointed out that prospective owner Shahid Khan already is influencing the team's approach to free agency. that is gonna give that D-line an immediate boost. Tford
Maybe a sign that SUH won't be drafted 1.01?
keggerz
Maybe a sign that SUH won't be drafted 1.01? at first blush it looks that way but Robbins is no spring chicken...Spags knows the value of DL depth and Robbins would be a very good guy to help teach Suh the intricacies of the NFL...can't lie that when I saw the deal I initially thought, Rams are gonna take a QB but the more I think about it, the more I think their pick is still Suh. Carriker, Robbins and Suh would be a fantastic three man rotation.
hooknladder
this is all true. and while Robbins comes out of a 4-3 he has the effect of some of those 3-4 NT's like Wilfork and Rogers, clogging up the middle, creating double teams, and letting the ends run free ala Strahan and Osi. Robbins is extremely disruptive and i think he has alot of gas left in the tank. i would take a reasonable stab @ C.Long this year, he should get a hugh boost as teams attempt to deal with the pressure and problems Robbins creates.
