But maybe Jones gets hurt and then Charles can have full run again. Jones signed for $5 million for 2 years - that's really only backup money-ish

meh.

there are so few running backs that own 100% of the rushing duties anywhere in the NFL. Anyone who thought the Chiefs weren't signing someone to share the load was kidding themselves.

If anything, it may save Charles some brutal wear and tear. He's still a low-end RB1.

uhh, yeah. but not many 1st round running backs have to compete with someone who rushed for 1500 yards last year either.

So i was debating this with an owner in my local league. We were arguing about whether Charles was a legitimate keeper, and he threw back at me "Jones may be a keeper with the KC offensive line"

Is the KC offensive line an elite or very good unit? Or is he full of crap?

they suck...used to be great, but age can be a problem when you play in the NFL...

I think Jones is being signed as the backup.

31 (32 by next season) year old who had over 300 regular season carries and 35-40 in playoffs.

Anybody else get the feeling he's being signed as short yardage/td vulture?

Something along those lines but either way it definitely puts a crimp in Charles' FF value. You know Jones is right at the edge of that RB cliff, but.....

Jones would be perfect for just 4 or 5 carries each game - all of them near the goal line.

Since we are talking about the Chiefs here, I'm guessing that you understand 3 or 4 of those 5 "goal line" carries per game will be near his OWN goal line, right?

Soooo, what does everyone think TJ's value will be for people owning Charles in keeper leagues???
