keggerz
Cant believe that nothing has been posted about this yet....and since I am laid up with a herniated disc I figured it was fitting for me to post it. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/arti...s_neck_surgery/ The Colts announced yesterday that Manning had surgery in Chicago to fix a pinched nerve, a procedure that is not expected to interrupt Manning’s offseason workouts or his availability for next season. http://www.stampedeblue.com/2010/3/19/1376...f-the-franchise Peyton was treated by Dr. Richard Fessler, a neurosurgeon on the Northwestern Medical Faculty in Chicago who specializes in minimally invasive spinal surgery, specifically microendoscopic procedures. Microendoscopic is a fancy way to describe looking inside the body through camera inserted in a tiny tube; think of those scenes in movies where a thief uses a teeny tiny camera through the floor or ceiling grate to spy on his target while going undetected. Here is an excellent animated illustration of the procedure I suspect Manning underwent. I highly recommend taking the time to watch it: Cervical Procedure Given the advanced procedure Manning underwent, the report that he left the hospital the day after the surgery, and his pure will to perform, I believe we will see him back on the field at least by training camp and definitely for Game 1. Medal of Honor
I didn't know you could get a pinched nerve surgery. I'm only 25 but I have the pinched nerve from hell in my shoulder. I should look into this.
wolfer
Hope you have a speedy recovery Kegg. Drugs are your friend. Funny how Manning gets surgery and it never once appeared on an injury report? I mean, Tom Brady's "probable-shoulder" has been going 4+ years! I guess pinched nerves are just minor irritations or something...
Zooty
I wonder if his neck will be shorter

BearBroncos
I didn't know you could get a pinched nerve surgery. I'm only 25 but I have the pinched nerve from hell in my shoulder. I should look into this. So do I. I've had the facet injections with no real resolve while other options have been for a fused neck (not ever an option in my mind), radio frequency (don't know if it worked for about 6 months of horrid pain) or they've talked about drilling the holes wider in my vertibrite. That appears the best option, other than just dealing with the pain!
