If you use more than that you might as well drink the cheap stuff as it will be watered down. CN's list is a good place to start. To that I would add Eagle Rare and Bulleit. Room temp with a splash of water is better. I agree totally with that.I treat scotch and whiskey the same way. In neither case should anything other than a splash of water come in contact with it.
