MustOfBeenDrunk
Down and out: Daunte Culpepper heads to UFL Daunte Culpepper - QB - DET - May. 18 - 1:09 p.m. ET Free agent Daunte Culpepper is expected to sign with the UFL's Sacramento Mountain Lions. He'll be reunited with Mountain Lions head coach/GM Denny Green, so the two can party like it's 1999. Culpepper will become the UFL's highest-profile signee, but he certainly won't be the last. Sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter that a steady stream of big-name players will be matriculating to the new league.

Bronco Billy
30 or 40. 30 or 40? Dependent upon the size of the pontoons?
Square
He must be. I wonder how many boat sluts he can afford on a UFL contract. I believe they make 50k a year. There was a rumor about contracts going up to 80k but I haven't heard that confirmed. My town is one of the expansion spots for the UFL this year so I'll probably check out a game or two when I get a slow weekend. Maybe this makes me lame, but I'm kind of excited to see what some of these has-beens and some never-weres are going to do.

I watched a few games last season - it was nice to see some of the college players who didn't make it to the NFL.

Coaches usually make less than star players
Square
50k a year wow ,, makes me wonder what a coach ( Denny Green) would be making then ? Coaches usually make less than star players I guess I don't know if different players make different amounts. The radio people just made it sound like players make X amount. To be honest, for most of these guys (especially if it gets moved up to 80k) the money isn't bad for a job that lasts a few months. They only have 10 games in a season so they finish around thanksgiving. Where some get picked up by NFL teams with injuries (I believe 30 players from the UFL ended up on pro rosters last year). tazinib1
There was an entire post on the UFL earlier this year or late last year...can't remember. Anywho, it listed some of the name coaches and players that have played for the league already. Something about an NFL farm system as well since NFLEurope is no more. Comparable to the minor leagues in MLB.
