aggiebones
My dynasty league has a 75000 salary cap and 40 cap years. We start 9 guys and its a RB desperate league like many. We also have a situation where a guy's contract runs out, you can put him on transition Tag where anyone can bid on him. Then you can match or release the player. Meachem is listed for ttag this year. I kinda like him and think he's very productive, but can't figure out his worth. Top WRs like Wayne go for about 10000. Many are bargains. I was pondering a 4-5000 bid at which he may or may not release him. Just curious what others thought of him.
rajncajn
Think Boldin to Fitzgerald or Housh to Ocho. No, not the same skill sets, but similar production by comparison. Colston will always be Brees's top target due to his size & hands, but Meachem is the guy who stretches the field in an offense who like to do just that. Henderson & Moore will take some opportunities away and Henderson does play a similar role, but Meachem is the future of the offense along with Colston. DMD
He had surgery to his foot in May and is supposed to be okay for training camp but that remains to be seen. He's been injury-prone in his career so far and has only had one decent season on a team that really loves to spread the ball around. Hsi big value last year was TD's (9) because he only had one game over 100 yards in his career and has gone over 50 yards just eight times in the 30 games he has played over the three years he has been in the NFL. He's okay, he is in a highly productive offense. He catches touchdowns. But he is injury prone so far and doesn't get much yardage in most games. aggiebones
Hmm, I didn't associate him with injuries, but maybe I missed some early ones in his career. I couldn't get a feel for whether last year he finally turned the corner or just a + blip in his career.
MustOfBeenDrunk
What value do you put on a WR3 in this league ? that should answer your question.
ABearWithFurniture
Hmm, I didn't associate him with injuries... He missed his entire rookie year (2007) with a knee injury.
rebdog
did he hurt his foot in the playoffs last year? is that why he did next to nothing on their SB run? because i was very surprised by his fall off in the post-season.
aggiebones
I bid like 4000 and someone else bid 8500, so I wasn't close and am OK with it. Thanks for advice. I totally don't remember his rookie knee injury. But I've had a couple kids since then, so thing get lost in my mind.
