Footballjoe
(KFFL) New York Giants DE Mathias Kiwanuka is "OK" after being involved in a motorcycle accident Friday, May 28, in Indianapolis, reports Ralph Vacchiano, of the New York Daily News. Kiwanuka's brother, Benedict Kiwanuka, is "in critical condition with multiple injuries" including a "severe" injury to one of his arms, according to Lt. Jeff Duhamell, of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. According to police, the two were riding motorcycles when Benedict's bike was hit by a car pulling out of the parking lot of an apartment complex. He was catapulted more than 100 feet and landed in the middle of the road. Mathias Kiwanuka was able to avoid the car, but he did "take a spill" from his bike. Witnesses have told police that the two were riding their motorcycles "at a high rate of speed."
whomper
A reason I would never get a bike. You are at the mercy of the massive stupidity that is on the roads. Not saying in this case the car that hit the one bike was at fault and it does say they were traveling at high speeds but just in general. People suck on the road and lately 6 out of 10 cars I see have people texting at the wheel.

A buddy of mine here in town had to "lay down" because someone pulled out from a parking lot in front of him. Of course, he was only going 30-35, so his injuries were minimal (considering). I can't tell you how many idiots are out there driving. I am in my truck a poo-load for work right now and I am blown away by how many bad drivers are out there and how many of them are on their phones (texting or talking). Hope Kiwanuka's bro pulls through.

Bronco Billy
A reason I would never get a bike. You are at the mercy of your own massive stupidity that is on the roads. Fixed. I sincerely hope that all turns out well, but one can not ignore that these guys placed themselves in a really bad spot if the initial reports are accurate. If you are actually seeing 6 in 10 drivers texting - something I find incredible - then I would guess that 7 out of 10 motorcyclists drive like little kids with their heads up their asses. Footballjoe
A while back I mentioned in a post that my wife and I saw someone on a motorcycle texting. Oh, we were on the interstate at the time.

Jackass
Other thing is drivers just aren't trained to look for bikes. I almost hit a bike the other day - it was in my blind spot when i was making a turn and just didn't see it. It was completely my fault but bikers have to take this into account when they're considering going "at a high rate of speed".
