Atlanta Cracker
I was looking through the first Huddle rankings here (performance scoring) thinking through who might rise up into the top 10 in their position that would make good sleepers and it occurred to me that you could make a pretty good team out of tier 3+ players and that would also be a good proxy for value picks. So, for the sake of discussion, build a team (QB, 2RB, 3WR, TE) for performance scoring using only players in Tier 3 or higher. I would say: QB - Palmer RB - Turner, Matthews WR - Boldin, Smith (Car), Bowe TE - Winslow Certainly some risk/reward but I could live with a team like that. Probably more realistic to make one of the RB and 1 - 2 WR tier 4+ but I'll leave that for another discussion.
darin3
Interesting/fun topic. I would say: QB - Stafford... year older, some nice weapons (Johnson, Best, Burleson) and playing from behind a ton. RB1 - SJax... in a PPR league, he'll be good (again) and under-rated (for some reason, again). FWIW, The Huddle has him ranked lower than anywhere else on the innerwebs. RB2 - Michael Turner... in a PPR his value takes a mild hit, but he's a stud when healthy and should be 100% recovered from the high ankle sprain that severely limited him in the tail end of 2009. WR1 - Boldin... I'm on this cat's junk big time this off-season. Derrick Mason was a top-20ish PPR WR last year, after almost retiring. The downfield cannon of Joe Flacco and Boldin's ability are going to be a nice mix. WR2 - SSmith (CAR)... Yeah, I'm guessing he was reeeeal close to making that second tier. He belongs there, and may finish better than half of that second tier. WR3 - Arrelious Benn... gotta throw one super-sleeper in here. No one else comes close in terms of ability and measurables on the Bucs and Josh Freeman will experience a big jump-up in his sophomore campaign. Benn will be a surprise. TE - Owen Daniels... if any tier 3+ TE can make a 2-tier jump (meaning he could finish ahead of all tier-2 guys), it's a healthy Daniels. Duchess Jack
sweet idea. QB: Eli RB: SJax, Benson WR: Boldin, S. Smith (CAR), Harvin (Vjax if not for his likelihood of missing some games) TE: Carlson
DMD
SJAX will probably rise in the rankings but I want to see him healthy in camp. And he will be an injury risk at all times and plays with a rookie QB (probably) and substandard receivers. He always seems to miss 2 to 3 games anyway. If his surgery looks like it has made a difference, I will bump him up. My Tier 3 team for now: Alex Smith Pierre Thomas Ryan Mathews Anquan Boldin Steve Smith (NYG) Vincent Jackson Zach Miller
Big John
QB Henne RB Turner, Greene WR Smith (NYG), S Rice, Crabtree TE Daniels
bleacher
Favre, Turner and SJ, Smith(Car.) Boldin, Rice, and Daniels. Roth and Jackson would be good choices if they were in all 16 games. I also like Henne and Stewart, but they're a bit more of a reach.
Jackass
The obvious choice is Tavaris Jackson.

degenerate
just curious what the huddle has rb's tiered at? turner is really tier 3?
DMD
Tier #3 starts with Turner at 11th overall. He is returning from injury, doesn't catch almost at all and is slated to share much more than he did in 2008.
