Mocking Frustration

For some reason Fantasy Football Calculator is freezing up on me today. Spent 10 minutes entering my rankings and then it froze at the end of the 1st round. Did another one and it froze at pick #3. Not saying it is the system because it can be something on my end, just frustrating. I like to go to FFC because the people there seem to be more serious. For example...

Thought I would go over to NFL.com after leaving FFC and try another one since I have a draft there tonight. You know, get used to the room a little bit. I got ticked and left there the other day because someone picked Tebow #3. Today, #1 pick goes to Larry Fitz...Cowboys D goes like #7 or 8 overall.

:tup::wacko:

Anyone have luck at one particular place with mocks where you don't get boneheads?

I find with most of the mainstream sites there are people in there that get giggles from messing the thing up. That or they leave. Last year I did a few at all of them to get a feel for the best ones and by the third round at CBS all but me and one other guy had left.

You want a serious mock, post in the find a league a forum (or in here, not sure if it'll get moved), get 10-12 Huddlers and set up a draft at MFL. Free and you should get a solid group of folks that know their stuff and are serious about it

I'm in for a mock or two over the next few days... PM me if you set one up, and need participants. Not only will I take it seriously, I tend to check in here several times per day (so I'm not one of those people who will sign up for a mock, and then disappear, causing the mock to screech to a halt). :wacko:

FWIW I suggest doing what I just did: email these people eg ESPN and at least tell them how bad it is. Here was my idea that I sent them that I feel sure would help it. I won't exactly hold my breath about it being done, but to be fair, maybe the free sites don't have enough to gain to be worth messing with it...which is a shame as it should be a pretty easy thing to do.

FYI, mock auctions at ESPN are a total joke, in spite of the great setup you have, not because of it. Frankly it's due to a lot of childish jerks who sign up for a draft then quickly exit, make silly draft picks/auction bids, etc effectively ruining any value the mocks would otherwise have.

My suggested fix is simple: keep track of users' averages re. how long they stay in drafts and/or price paid for each player for all to see, ie a "rating system" much like EA does for online gaming, effectively "outing" them so that when they join drafts, people will know not to draft with them. This will save others' time as they won't "go there" in the first place...and as the idiots have a harder and harder time getting anyone to draft with them, give them incentive to stop, greatly improving the draftts. Without that, it will continue, perhaps even get worse.

For what it's worth, I've done about ten mocks on fantasyfootballcalculator, and have had no problems, and most guys are sticking around. Not sure if it has anything to do with the time: between 10pm and midnight, EST...
