i_am_the_swammi
Thought it might be interesting to have some homer glasses on, and post what deep sleeper everyone thinks might have a shot to make some noise from their home team. For my Eagles, 6'3" WR Riley Cooper has been opening eyes with his deft hands, solid size, and playmaking ability. Reports have said he has caught almost everything thrown his way, and yesterday found the endzone twice during 11 v 11 drills while running with the 1st team offense in place of the injured DeSean Jackson. He is known as a special teams nut, and throws his body around with reckless abandon. It also doesn't hurt that he is a fan favorite with his long blond hair and good looks. He seems well on his way to making the 53-man roster. While he has a ways to go to make up ground on the depth chart (certainly behind Jackson, Maclin & Avant), in the Eagles pass-heavy offense which utilizes many four WR sets, he could be a possession-WR factor as the season progresses. He certainly is a big red-zone target.

Randall
Morgan Burnett rookie SS. With Bigby taking orders from Rosenhaus and staying out of OTA's the kid got a lot of work. Now he did report but has ankle problems.
BearBroncos
WR = I think LIma Sweed wakes up out of his stooper and has a monster year this year. I also drafted Donte Stallworth in hopes he also wakes up and finds Baltimore to be a suitable home and does 90+ receptions at 900+ yards and 10+ TD's TE = Dave Thomas, with Shockey an injury away from retirement and Graham slowely developing, THomas could take a nice load this year. QB = Matt Ryan. He has fully recovered from his toe injury along with the return of a healthy Michael Turner, we could see 2008 number for Ryan in the 2010 season. Not a deep sleeper, but a sleeper none the less IMHO. RB - LaGarrette Blount. He needs to reform himself but will have ample opportunities to show his stuff in Tenn and with CJ getting less of a roll (yes, speculation but they can't run him like last year) could see some huge numbers..... that is if he keeps his nose clean and takes that number 2 spot. tonyr0802
WR = I think LIma Sweed wakes up out of his stooper and has a monster year this year. Better luck with that next year, but I doubt it. From May 11, 2010 Steelers placed WR Limas Sweed on injured reserve with a torn Achilles' tendon, ending his season.Sweed suffered the torn Achilles' a week ago in practice. With just seven career catches in 20 games, the 2008 second-rounder's early career has been notable only for a serious of miscues and questionable effort. Sweed's 2009 season also ended early, reportedly due to severe depression. Sweed is signed through 2011, but he doesn't have a future in Pittsburgh. So you are taking a gamble on a player that missed the entire 2009 season and has never put up numbers like that in his career. Oh, did I mention that Balt is a run first team with two WR's ahead of Stallworth on the depth chart. I suggest you stay away from Vegas until you seek help for your gambling addiction. Capt. Stanky
I'll play... Bernard Scott (RB) Cin - Everyone is talking about the addition of TO, but The Bengals are still a running team. Scott will get more work than he did last year in order to keep Benson fresh. If Benson gets dinged and misses some time I don't see the running game suffering all that much. Scott proved last year that he's capable of carring the load if needed for a few game stretch. If Benson goes down I think you're looking at a top 10 FF back. The title of this thread says "Your homer sleepers". Stallworth is the ultimate homer and probably won't do jack, but he is on his final leg of his career. He has the speed that Baltimore has lacked and with the addition of Boldin, it only add potential for a number 2 WR. So far, Stallworth has looked sharp in FSTC. Menudo
I know he is already showing up on radar's, but, I think that Mike Wallace could be HUGH this year. The kid doesn't just have breakaway speed, he can catch the ball in traffic. With Santonio off in NY, Mike Wallace has top 10 WR potential, even with the QB issues that will be going on in Pittsburgh. Mike Wallace - Top 10 WR....you heard it here first. Avernus
Riley Cooper might just be another TC phenom that ends up on the practice squad - I hope he's a lot more than that... my sleeper is Jason Avant...there are no more sleepers on the Eagles offense that will actually get a chance at success... I can see Avant with 55 rec., 750 yds and 6 TD - this is about 15 more receptions than last year and also about 200 yds more while doubling his TD numbers.... he could easily do more if Maclin or DJax went down - even if he stays in the slot and Baskett or Washington move to the outside...the matchup he'll get will favor him even more in Kolb's progression... Aye, but I'm not a fan of Mason (me not being a fan doesn't mean he won't produce) but it was interesting during mini-camp that a 3 WR set, Stallworth and Mason both played outside receivers and Boldin played the slot. BearBroncos
If Knowshown and Buckhalter have issues, your deep DEN RB sleeper is Toney Baker. Just speaking from last year for experiance (thats all we can do), but it doesn't appear that McDaniels is a man to test other backs during the regular season or RBBC, hence Hillis didn't get jack but I think Baker does get some decent chances this year. I think this is Buckhalters last year.
delusions of grandeur
Harry Douglas. Everyone here is really excited about the speedy slot guy who could push Jenkins for the #2 (at least as far as production goes). Ever since his breakout games in '08, we've felt we found our Welker... But coming off an ACL tear last preseason, we're now just hoping that we didn't end up with the '10 Welker model. He's being held back some in camp right now (almost 100%), but all of the reports suggest that the coaches want to see what this guy can do for our offense too.. If he can stay healthy and return to his speedy form, then look out for this dude! He could be a big-time sleeper in PPR.
Seahawks21
Seahawks-- Not sure if Leon Washington is a small enough name to be considered a sleeper. The obvious choice here that everybody is talking about is Mike Williams (the receiver). He has lined up at the X with the 1st unit basically since he walked through the door (most teams would consider whoever plays the X to be their #1 WR). Housh is going to work from the slot whenever possible. Matt played pretty well with the only tall-ish receivers he has ever had here (Jurvy and Hackett). I know he has 39 catches in his entire career, but he should at least equal that mark somewhat easily. On the defensive side, Ricky Foley. He led the CFL in sacks last season, and as desperate as the Hawks are for a pass-rush, he'll get a shot to show what he can do.
Luger
Giants - Ramses Barden WR. Good feedback last year. Cant say about this years camp.
delusions of grandeur
I was about to make you an offer for Douglas not realizing that your a Falcons fan. I've gone to Bengals camp (its 2 miles from my house) the last 3 days and Scott only touches the ball on passing plays - along with Leonard. He's also coughed it up 2 times in the last 3 days as well.
MonkeyOne
Mike Williams, Bucs version. Fell in the draft due to character concerns, but has been running with the first team so far and has a lot of talent and a great opportunity.
wolfer
I'll folllow PFT's little blurb and say EJ Henderson. If this guy can get back on the field for the Vikes this season after his leg went flailing in the wind (well not really, he broke it in a dome), he'd represent a fine sleeper in IDP and a true inspiration for the D. Great guy, really solid LB and I wish him nothing but the best. Hey Seahawks I loved the Foley shout-out...
Chargerz
If Jackson stays out (and it looks like he will), Legedu Naanee would be the Bolts team sleeper. A REALLY deep sleeper is rookie wideout, Jeremy Williams. He's having a great camp but has alot of others in the depth chart ahead of him. Rovers
If you draft Greene, the handcuff is C Washington, not Tomlinson.
