rajncajn
2 weeks after winning a Super Bowl ring with the San Francisco 49ers, Rickey Jackson sold his Super Bowl ring. To be frank, Rickey Jackson has made a LOT of bad decisions in his personal life & I'm sure that's one of the one's he's regretted for a long time. Despite this he's always been a fan favorite of Saints fans for everything he did for us on the field & the way he had bonded with the city and the fans. So needless to say Saints fans were elated to find out that he had finally been inducted to the HOF Apparently so was Mr Tom Benson. On the flight up to Canton, Benson presented Ricky with HIS Actual 1995 Super Bowl ring with a new engraving. BeachBum
Actually according to this story , Jackson had given it to a friend who owns a restaurant in N.O., and Benson got it from him and re-inscribed it. :BJ impression:

SLAYER
Impastato had it, it was in safe keeping. His resteraunt is where the Saints hang out and I bet Benson didn't pay anymore than Joe paid for it if he paid at all.

I had remembered the story completely wrong, but now that you mention it, it does sound right. Maybe the money problems was why he gave it up.
