HutOne
Harry Douglas just became a sleeper pick in case Jenkins injury keeps him out longer.

delusions of grandeur
That's if he can stay healthy himself. Exactly. This is not the way the coaching staff wants to get him involved. They've already been holding Douglas back in practices. This should mean a ton of preseason snaps for Meier though after what he's done with them so far. Nothing to see here yet though. Douglas should be right where he was before on your deep-sleeper radar, but if he isn't quite 100% yet, then the coaching staff will probably opt for Finneran more often until Jenkins gets back, rather than risk losing Douglas' potential yet again. If HD is ready to go though, this could be one more reason Jenkins might lose his job to him. Douglas kid is gonna be good if he can return to form. dula14
Living in the ATL, I've said all along the Falcons should have given T.O. some consideration. The guy is a former Atlanta resident and loves it here from what I understand. Even with a healthy Jenkins and Douglas, the Falcon's #2 WR position is still a concern. IMO T.O. is still good for 55-60 catches, 800-900 yds and 6 tds - can't say that about any other receiver on the Falcon roster outside of White. Tford
To the untrained eye, this injury is inconsequential. Maybe it even kicks the door open wider for Harry Douglas or Kerry Meier to breakout. However, this injury hurts the Falcons moreso than the 50 rec and 635 yards he had last year. Jenkins is, outside of maybe Hines Ward, the best blocker in the league at the wide receiver position. Watch some of the runs that get bounced outside for the Falcons. Jenkins usually eliminates his man and runs downfield to pick up another. Maybe not as critical as losing an offensive lineman, but I'd rather have a White-Jenkins-Douglas in the slot WR corps than a White-Douglas-Meier in the slot WR corps. Don't be surprised if Brian Finneran gets most of the extra work with Jenkins out because of the blocking aspect of his game.
