BS Miscreant
So, Reggie Bush was available to draft(in a mock) as a potential 3rd or 4th RB depending of course on who you've already drafted and it got me thinking about guys like Slaton, LT, etc... In a PPR - 2RB - 2WR - RB/WR flex who might you be looking at or maybe targeting as potential flex RBs that you believe could be difference makers on your team? And how early would you look to draft them?
King Tut
If I cant land a solid #1 WR like Dwayne Bowe for my RB/WR flex, I'm looking for a "starter" from a RBBC I'd like to get someone from a good offense like Houston's not like Buffalo's from this spot. Just waiting to see how the preseason plays out. Bush would be a solid flex because Mike Bell is gone and he's a receiving threat. Don't sleep on the L train though (Lynell Hamilton)
BeeR
So, Reggie Bush was availableI agree: so? If roster space permits, IMO Slaton/Tate combo is a good one. It could be RBBC but I think one emerges.

You agree that Reggie Bush was available? That's really open-minded of you. Seriously though, I believe at the time I had 2 RBs and 1 WR already on my roster and was looking to fill my 2nd WR spot and saw that he was available. Since his role has been more clearly defined (diminished) in that offense I haven't really given him much thought. For whatever reason it just jumped out at me that he presented pretty good value as a flex/starter at that time in the draft. That in turn got to me thinking about Slaton, a guy most people seem to have written off, who even if he's not the starter will definitely be a big part of an offense that likes to throw. It just went on from there. There are several 3rd down/hybrid backs in the league that are significantly more valuable in a PPR with a flex. I realize this is not news to many but this doesn't typically garner a great deal of conversation.

With Tate gone, you still see Slaton/Foster as a good one? One or the other?

Shorttynaz
I'm kinda liking Tomlinson. While he's no where near his old LT self, he showed some moves in the game tonight that opened my eyes. He's one Shonn Greene injury away from being very relevant (i.e. - last years Ricky Williams).

I'm with you on this one especially since he can be had pretty late, at least for now. The knock was he wasn't playing with any burst but he certainly showed some tonight. Fewer touches this season and he should be able to maintain that more easily. It's only one game but I'd say he looked above average at worst. He's one Shonn Greene injury away from being very relevant (i.e. - last years Ricky Williams). it won't matter how good he looks in preseason, how long will he be able to be 100%? His wheels have traditionally been the first thing to go in terms of his burst just fading away.... he'll look great in September even with 10 touches, maybe more as the Jets could run it 30+ times that game...but when mid-October hits, I expect him to drop off...he's had 8 outstanding seasons and even in that 8th season, he fell off late with the ankle injury...and then in his 9th season, he just wasn't the same guy.. Now he's entering his 10th season with a new team almost fulfilling the "late career journeyman role"...I mean, the Chargers let him go in FA and felt they needed to hit the draft for a new RB over a player that was likely the #1 RB in football just two seasons ago... I think he'll be worth a 5th or 6th round flier, but I'm likely looking elsewhere in that round, myself...

Shonn Greene barely touched the ball 100 times last season and seemed to show that he's not capable of handling a "full load". He's an upright runner with an injury history (dating back to college). Knowing that, I think that helps boost Tomlinson's value knowing that he could once again be the man, however in another city - but a run happy offense. From everything I'm reading the Jets want to more than double (close to tripling) Greene's workload now that T Jones is gone. I would certainly handcuff Greene with Tomlinson in the 6th, but to take Tomlinson on a flier I would give him a look in the 7th or 8th round, once all my primary positions are filled - however chances are he won't make it that far...
