Capt. Stanky
Let me start by saying that I am a Bengals fan. I know that at times I can be biast about certain players on my fav team. I was curious to see what others thought about Palmers prospects for the year? One thing that really jumped out at me after watching the first team O last night against the Broncos was the amount of weapons Palmer now has at his disposal. I don't know how much of a factor Gresham will be early on. I saw him get pushed back several times while trying to run block, one instance resulting in a 2 yard loss for Benson. With that being said, I came away very impressed with what I saw from him as a receiver. He has great hands. Plucked one 3rd down grab while in a crowd of about 3 defenders. He seems to have that size/speed combo that is going to be uncoverable one on one, once he gets more cofortable running all the routes on the route tree. Shipley looks like a player. Each catch I've seen him make he appears to be wide open. The kid just knows how to get open. He will prove to be very valuable, especially on 3rd downs. I expect him to lead the team in receptions on 3rd downs. I can't wait to see us go to 3 WR 1 TE sets. How will opposing teams be able to stop Ocho, TO, Shipley and Gresham? Hopefully the O-line can give Palmer enough time to take advantage of all these weapons. I think Palmer has a nice year, but this team is still a running team 3800 yds 28 TD's 12 Int's Whatcha think about Palmer, Huddlers? Edited August 16, 2010 by Capt. tazinib1
I also watched the game and before doing so, I had some positive outlooks on Palmer this year. But it was extremely obvious, to me at least, that Palmer has lost ALOT of zip on the ball. Sure his accuracy is still there, but I wouldn't be expecting any bombs down the field to the "Reality Brothers". It's a shame too cause at one time, Palmer was a cannon. Not so much now. Look for a ton of the 20 yard and under variety this year.

All his passes appeared to have steam on them to me. I did see a couple that kind of fluttered at the Hall of Fame game, but last night I thought his arm looked fine. Maybe I was watching with my Bengals gogles on ?
Coach1310
I don't expect much more than what you saw last year. I think he will be a bit better, but not a lot. The Bengals have become a run the ball/play solid defensive type team that has turned Palmer into more of a game manager than a slinging QB type. He has more weapons, but I don't forsee a big change in his numbers.... add 2-300 yards and a couple TDs... in my opinion
Randall
If he uses Gresham like he did the last game I like him. 3800 yards 25 TD's are my projections. I think they will release TO however.

With Antonio Bryant probably a non-factor for the early portion of the season I just don't see why they would cut TO.

AoDay
If it weren't for CIN's tough schedule this year I think Palmer would definitely beat past performances. But as a result I think he will remain the same regardless of the built up offense. I think TO will stay and post 600-700 yards. He looked good in the preseason game and has building his relationship with Palmer. He is good friends with Ochocinco so I don't think he has a problem with not being in the spotlight like he did in his past teams. I think this is the best fit for TO and management knows this.
