cvbfantasyfootball
If Arian Foster is the #1 in Texas what will his stats look like this year?
Chris1982
This is not my personal estimate, but a very reliable fantasy website has his stats projected for this year as: Projected 2010 Fantasy Stats: 1,125 rushing yards. 28 catches. 240 receiving yards. 10 total TDs. BearBroncos
Me, I'd avoid the Texas backfield (both teams in Texas) like the plague unless you in a deep dynasty league.

Foster has been practicing with the first team all of camp, I wouldn't really consider him a sleeper.

I liked him better when I could snag him in the 12th round vs. the 6th or 7th.
BeeR
He's such a popular sleeper he's barely a sleeper any more, like Wallace.
Randall
Foster has been practicing with the first team all of camp, I wouldn't really consider him a sleeper. You may not have but did you think with Tate there he would remain the starter? A 2nd round pick gets every opportunity to get the job. I thought by week 8 and before the playoffs Tate would probably get the job. You had to think fantasy playoffs didn't you? I see what you are saying his being the starter but thought it was only temporary. Edited August 19, 2010 by Randall
Trots
Barring any unforseen circumstances (trades, etc) and knocking on wood profusively - I think Foster will have a great year. Something along the lines of 1200 - 1500 total yards and 10 TDs would be my guess. **Disclaimer - I added him late last year and also drafted him this year as my RB2

Now it's a moo point, but I think he could have held off Tate for awhile, at least this season.
Locness_Monster
Having watched him for about 8-9 games at UT - Never was a fan of his, in terms of his physical gifts, and his football skills/IQ. He's in a good situation now, hopefully he'll take advantage of it.

damageinc
ESPN's Paul Kuharsky confirms that the Texans "definitely" consider Arian Foster to be their starting running back this season. Steve Slaton will "ideally" be utilized as a change-of-pace back, primarily on passing downs. This is how we've seen the Texans backfield shaping up for some time now, and it makes all the sense in the world. Foster is a big back with solid all-around skills while Slaton struggles to run inside and has concerns about a heavy workload. Foster should be locked in as a low-end RB2 in fantasy drafts this year. Aug. 20 - 3:00 p.m. ET

budlitebrad
Definitely not locked into RB2 yet, but he has a lot of upside in that offense. Grabbed him in the 14th round of MSHB (47th RB off the board), so I'm pulling for him.

It doesn't really matter what cows have to say so if a point is inconsequential or meaninglees then that point is "moo".
damageinc
Arian Foster - RB - Texans Texans coach Gary Kubiak believes that starting running back Arian Foster is "becoming a hell of a football player." We heard rumblings of Foster's lackadaisical attitude late last year, but he's put them to bed while earning the complete trust of Houston's coaching staff. "The way he practices and prepares, the way he goes about his business with blitz pickup, he's going to be a good one," added Kubiak. "He did a 360. ... Something clicked. He's doing everything we're asking him to do." Aug. 20 - 10:42 p.m. ET Source: houstontexans.com
Scooby's Hubby
I am also hearing that Chris Henry (former Titans 2nd round pick) is turning heads. NFL Sirius interviewed DeMeco Ryans and asked him his thoughts on the Houston RBs and he said Foster and Henry and did not mention Slaton at all. Henry certainly has the size and skills to be a starter.
Randall
This is from the story listed above. This is what I heard too after the draft-he wasn't a committed football player. Turning the corner: Running back Arian Foster will play in the first two quarters along with Steve Slaton. He's looking to follow up on a promising performance at Arizona, where ran for 31 yards on just four carries (7.8 average). Kubiak thinks Foster, who ran for 216 yards in the final two games of the 2009 season, has turned a corner in his young career. "Arian is becoming a hell of a football player," Kubiak said. "The way he practices and prepares, the way he goes about his business with blitz pickup, he's going to be a good one if he keeps going. "He did a 360. It's amazing. Bottom line, he comes out of school and there is a knock against him. We battled him for half a season for some of those standards and he did things. There's come a point that he was going to listen or it wasn't going to happen. Something clicked. He's doing everything we're asking him to do." Foster went undrafted out of the University of Tennessee in 2009 and spent the first half of his rookie season on the practice squad. "I got a chance to get a feel for what this league is all about at first a little bit," he said. "That's kind of how my personality is. I kind of play background until I figure out what's going on. Once I figured out what's going on, I saw how professionals handled their business, and you really see that this is a business and you're a businessman, you've got to handle your business as a businessman. Sorry for using ‘business' so much, but it's the truth, man. Guys like Andre Johnson, the way he handles his business inspires me. So I try to operate like he does. No tolerance. No excuses. Just go to work."
