gsxunv04
What the verdict on this guy? I have him as my starting number two back, behind Chris Johnson. I am wondering if I should propose some trades or just hang onto him. Other RB's I have in my stable are Jerome Harrison, Marshawn Lynch, Willis McGahee, and Bernard Scott. I am thinking maybe try and pair Jacobs with McGahee to try and trade for a more solid #2 back. I have to start 2 RB's and 2 WR's, but have a flex option. I have semi-decent WR's so I plan on using 3 WR's for most of the season. My WR's are Miles Austin, Marques Colston, Donald Driver, Kenny Britt, and Mario Manningham. Thanks for the comments and input everyone!
vikinglion
Wow. 61 views and no answers. So... apparently we just don't know. I paid a large sum for Jacobs last year and he never got off my bench. But... I think he just HAS to do better this year. Law of averages and reduction in body fat contribute to this thinking. As for a trade...It all depends on how good of a guy you opponent offers to you.
Scooby
I'm not feelin the love for Brandon Jacobs, but I am for Bradshaw who can be drafted much cheaper:) I see 7/7 for BJ 700ish yds, 7 td's, Bradshaw maybe 1K yds ~8 td's plus he'll chip in more for catches in a PPR and a few td's there as well:) Just my opinion, I could be totally wrong
BeeR
Could have sworn I heard that Bradshaw was looking bad so far this year but can't say for sure.
gsxunv04
It seems there is a lot of question about this guy(Jacobs.) I wish I wouldnt have messed with him, but now I have to deal with him. I am going to start Jerome Harrison over him week 1, and hopefully JAcobs will give me a reason to start him. Thanks for the input guys
JUMbotron
Jacobs seems like a big fella who's breaking down like Natrone Means. That's my perception. Marion Butts, the kinda guy who just slammed into people too much and too hard right out of the gates.

I am a bit skeptical that Bradshaw can stay healthy coming off dual foot surgeries. Then again, Jacobs isn't exactly a poster child for NFL Ironmen. I still say Jacobs gets the TDs which makes him a little more desirable.
tazinib1
You can throw the Giants RB's in with the SeaChickens and Patriot dart board game. No thanks.
darin3
I have never been a fan of Jacobs. Runs far too upright and doesn't catch the ball. Ever. That said, the Giants seem like a team that will depend on their defense and some kind of ability to run the football at some point. Also worth mentioning is that I don't trust Ahmad Bradshaw all that much. Reminds me - to a point - of the whole "watch out for Jerious Norwood stealing carries from Michael Turner" rigmarole we hear every pre-season. So, put that all together, and Jacobs is a back that I wouldn't mind having, especially if I have a uber-stud as my RB1. Will he score 15 TDs like he did in 2008? Probably not. Will he only get to 5 scores like he did last year? I think you can average those two seasons out and expect Jacobs to approach double digit TDs if he can stay healthy. gsxunv04
Well put fella's. You have given me a lot of food for thought....week 1 will be a tough decision. To start Brandon Jacobs or Jerome Harrison....that is the question....geez I'm glad I joined this forum,
Hannibal
Havent the Gmen already said that Bradshaw will see alot more work this year? I could see Bradshaw/Jacobs turning into what Tiki/Jacobs was a few years ago. Tiki did all the work and Jacobs comes in at the 5 yard line and vultures the TDs. I was a Tiki owner, used to get me all fired up.
BearBroncos
Only value I see Jacobs is in a PPR as maybe your low end #2 back. Not much value IMHO.
Big Ernie McCracken
Could have sworn I heard that Bradshaw was looking bad so far this year but can't say for sure. Bradshaw has run far better than Jacobs in the preseason and for most of last season. He's a tough and decisive runner with better than average receiving skills and the ability to break tackles. Jacobs is junk at this point. He's packed it in since signing a new contract and will only make my roster as an RB6 or beyond.
gsxunv04
Dang, sounds like I wasted a pick on Jacobs....

The season is still over 2 weeks away, maybe wait to hit any panic buttons until the guys start playing instead of completely relying on some opinions. Maybe Jacobs tears it up and runs for 1,000+ yards and 12 td's or maybe he goes for 400 and 3 td's.
gsxunv04
I hear ya. I hope he pulls through, and as mentioned he should get some goal line work, which is fine by me!
BearBroncos
Dang, sounds like I wasted a pick on Jacobs.... Don't lose hope yet. Jacobs has only played in 1 preseason game so far, which was a crappy outing, but he should get some decent playing time this week. After that, then you can cry
