Terry Beeson Rule: if after the Keepers have been declared, a kept player is placed on IR by it's respective NFL team, then the Owner keeping the player may place him on his team's IR and then draft anotehr player in the spot that would have been used to keep him.

Open up FCFS waivers before Week 1, right after the draft has been completed.

Possibly expand rosters (function of going from 16 to 18 weeks of regular season with 2 bye weeks to account for).

Possibly add an active lineup Flex position (RB/WR/TE).

Revisit bonus scoring for long TDs.

When do you want to begin discussing this stuff?  I'm game to start any time.

And I'll resurrect my opposition to bonuses too, for good measure.

This isn't a rule, but how about establishing a league trophy?  Each owner can chip in an extra $$ amount yet to be determined at the draft this year as a one time expense to get a trophy/plaque made - retroactive to the initial season.  I have used Crown Trophy in St. Paul in the past and they have done good work, and are reasonable in price.  Hisdahls in White Bear Lake is also good, but a bit more expensive.

I'd be willing to check on prices at the trophy shops to see what it would run us, depending on what we want.  If anyone knows someone who's pretty good at woodworking, we may be able to make one unique to our league as well.  We did that with my Bundy League in Hibbing.  It's in the style of the Stanley Cup, where we can add another layer after the first one is filled, which won't happen until after 36 seasons (9 plates on each side of the base of the trophy).

Plaques are fine, but once they're filled, you have to come up with an idea for what to do afterwards.  I think you can max a plaque to 24 seasons, but that may be high.

Love it.  Better yet, how about a main UFF-DA trophy and a small one to keep each year?

So you're thinking one big trophy that reads something like UFF-DA Fantasy Football Champion on it, and a smaller one that is personalized with the year, owner's name, and team name?  The big trophy would be the travelling trophy and each champion would have a smaller, personalized replica to keep on their mantle.

I like that idea.

We would of course have to figure out the logistics of handing out the trophy each year, but since we're all pretty much local I think there are a lot of ways to make that happen.

You've got it.  The annual (small) one could be very inexpensive.  I have a Yahoo bobblehead for winning the HOTD baseball league and it's way cool.

As far as the presentation goes, we could do that in the first / second playoff weekend, main trophy to be handed back at the following year's draft.

Don't use my name in vain on that, since the keeper I had was never put on IR, either way I was screwed.

I say a Championship Belt ala WWE, with the current champion etched on a plate afixed on the face of the belt and prior champions afixed on the strap.

We will be, yes.  More votes to come.  Just haven't gotten to all of them yet.

I'm not going to put this one to a vote until (or if) the NFL actually changes their number of regular season games.

This would be the Terry Beeson rule:  I, for the life of me, still cannot understand why it is necessary to declare our keepers one week before the draft.  The Terry Beeson Rule would be to just declare our keepers on the night of the draft, that way someone does not get shafted by a player who decides at the last second that he has to rehab an injury that he should have taken care six months prior.

Mostly just because it takes me a little bit of time to load the Keepers into MFL, so that the draft can be done online without any hitches.  You're correct that I don't need a full week to do this, but I do need at least a day.  So, that deadline is strictly for my benefit.  Tell you what, just to give myself a little bit of wiggle room in case I happen to get really busy right before the draft, how about if we make the deadline 48 hours before the draft?  I think that would be fair.  What do you think?

I think 48 hours would be fine.

If we want people to keep more players, maybe declaring closer to the draft would help.

48 hrs is good.
