delfamdelfam
I have Welker as my #1 wide receiver in one of my drafts, and people say my WR's are weak. Just wondering if people think he's a WR1. If he puts up numbers like 100 catches, 1100 yards, and 4 tds in a ppr league, that 226 points, that seems like a WR1 to me. Also by waiting to the third round to get a WR1 you can stock up on top talent at the RB position in rounds 1 and 2.
buddahj
IMO, he's not going to put up hugh stats. At best, he's a WR2 this year. Remember, he's only 8 months removed from ACL surgery.
theeohiostate
Welker in the 3rd seems a bit of a reach to me , haven't seen him go before round 4 yet in any drafts.
delfamdelfam
Fantasyfootballcalculator has him at 3.06, is that right by what everyone has seen? Wes Welker last year(ppr stats) 1348 yds, 123 rec, 4 tds, that equals 262.8 points Randy Moss last year(ppr stats) 1264 yds, 83 rec, 13 tds, that equals 261.4 Randy Moss is a #1 reciever, so if Welker equals him in points that why is Welker not a #1 reciever fantasy wise? I know he's coming off injury but he seems 100% and even if he's off of what he did last year, he still seems like amazing value in the 3 or 4th round. No one is 100% coming off that serious of an ACL injury. Thats his stats when he is healthy, I think they will defiently be diminished. Not a WR1, i would slot him as a WR2 with some risk. Capt. Stanky
If the pats are smart, and I think they are, they won't give Welker a full load early on. They'd be smart to rest him and get Edilmen and Tate some time. The fact that he's back this fast from the ACL is incouraging, but it makes no sense to give him too many reps early on. BigTen
I got him in the 5th round. I think he has the potential to be a #1 but he will put up better numbers later in the year and not in the beginning. Maybe that is when you can trade for him. I think he will be a monster in the later weeks. JMHO
WaterMan
Alot of people thought NE was going to dump Moss after 1 season. Now with the Welker injury, Moss might have a team for a few more years.
Avernus
I would consider him at the near-end of the 4th.....and i said consider, not draft....but it would cross my mind...
